A cross stitched D&D themed band sampler designed to look like an 'ugly christmas sweater' with rows of potions, weapons, dice, chests, and of course dragons.

I know it's not even November, but if you want to stitch this holiday band sampler for the holidays this year, it's probably best to start soon. 😂 Took me like 35 hours, at any rate.

I'd like to do another nerdy band sampler like this one day. But what theme? 🤔

Back look a bit different than the front? That's because this was done on printed aida. So while the front is a cool stormy gray, the back is just white!

It's a lil weird working with printed aida, I kinda get jump scare when I flip it over to tuck in my ends, lol. 😂

A palette of cross stitch / embroidery threads. Both DMC and Cosmo brand floss in a range of browns and blues.

A bit more muted of a color palette than I usually work with! All browns and blues. Not the most exciting palette, but I'm hoping it'll make for a really nice cohesive design.

Was not expecting that restart mid gradient, (pesky knots!) but it totally works for the hat brim.

I learned to knit October last year. And made exactly two hats.

...I've made nothing since. So despite minimal experience, I decided I was an expert already and I should try something new entirely and learn brioche. 😂 I've only had to frog and restart twice! And I learned how to add lifelines lmao.

This week's pattern is also on printed aida. It's so weird to look at up close but it looks wonderfully stormy from a distance. The camera does not pick up the glitter AT ALL though. It is sparkly. I promise. Imagine the sparkle.

Today, the backside of my lost druid. While I wanted those scattered stars and leaves above, I also tried to keep them close enough together to be able to stitch the black outline in one single path without having to jump long distances.
I did have to stop and start again for the stars though. 😂

An interesting lil pattern for you this week, inspired by those skull-shaped planters I kept seeing everywhere.
So here's my take on them, in the style of the small ornament designs. I had a lot of fun stitching that leafy hair!

This went through sooo much 310, lol. Especially because I used 3 strands on the 310 so it'd have good coverage (and 2 strands for the rest)

I've been meaning to do a cross stitch book cover. So naturally I skipped that step and went straight to completely rebinding a book. 😂
That's right. I wanted to know if you could use aida as book cloth and decided to rebind this copy of Alice in Wonderland to find out. Such a fun experiment!

This month's cross stitch palette cleanser was a relatively quick crochet blanket. Basically, I had a bunch of random super soft blanket yarn I got for free and wanted to use it up. And so I jammed them all together into this. And it worked out pretty okay. 😂
