A closeup of a cross stitch pattern that's all half stitches in pastel blue and pink
A lil closeup of this month's cross stitch project. A sea of half-stitch in pastel colors.
Doesn't seem like much, but I bet there's a few of you that somehow know what I'm stitching based on just this. π
How fun are these colors though??

A cross stitch work in progress. An indistinguishable black outline partially filled with white and grey stitches on a blueish purple fabric.
This WIP wednesday, I bring you... uhh, something. Just stitching away on this mystery pattern. A lil piece I'm working on for the blog. Very curious to see how this turns out. π
Patrons will be able to see it this Saturday. Are you ready? Any guesses for what this might π?

A rainbow of metallic embroidery threads from the DMC Mouline Etoile line.
Ever tried #CrossStitch w/metallic threads and absolutely hated it? -- I'm begging you to try again with a different brand.
DMC Light Effects are easy to find, but are difficult to work with. DMC also makes the MoulinΓ© Γtoile pictured or the Diamant line, which are both better. So are other brands!

a color palette of embroidery thread in both DMC and Cosmo brand threads. Intended for an upcoming cross stitch design, this palette features a white, grey, several browns, two olive greens, 5 different reds, a pink, and some light blues.
Very excited for this month's Patreon cross stitch pattern! A pretty interesting color palette we've got going on on here. Browns, olive greens, burgundy, and... pastel pink/blue? π€
Hint: It's one people have requested several times!

A Legend of Zelda themed cross stitch piece, with the tarnished master sword, some silent princess flowers, and the quote "Courage need not be Remembered for it is never Forgotten."
After years of being roughly crammed in a frame without care, I finally went back and re-framed this #crossstitch!
So I decided to film the process and put it on YouTube in case you're curious how I go about framing things now, and to see exactly how lazy I was years ago. π

A cross stitch biscornu / pin cushion featuring the silent princess flowers of legend of zelda fame.
A lil' throwback to one of my favorite biscornu designs, featuring the Silent Princess of Legend of Zelda fame.
Interesting seeing this old photo though. I definitely fill my biscornu more now to make them more, uh, 'plump'. And my photography/editing has definitely improved a lot
over the years!

Heck yeah mouse gang!
Larger canvas would be nice sometimes, but I feel ya on only having time for smaller areas. Cross stitching it all takes tiiiime. π Even just a 15x15 square takes an hour of stitching.

Just really wanted to share these gloves I crocheted recently. I used the same yarns I used for my knitted kitty hat last year so they'd match! They turned out super cute!
Tis a free pattern I found on ravelry.

Anyway, that's all, just some crochet.

A tray of small tic-tac style containers holding a variety of Mill Hill seed beads in the dark blue and purple range.
A small tic tac container of blue seed beads. In the background, a whole organizer full of dozens of similar containers with a whole rainbow of beads.
I realllly want to do more beaded patterns this year. But I feel like I kinda... forget I have beads when I'm designing?
I do like having an entire set of Mill Hill beads though. Even if it's just a tiny amount of each. Makes it real easy to visually pick out the right color beads in person!

Another project I need to FFO. I'm thinking maybe a shadowbox with some faux flowers around to give it dimension? But what else can I do?
Throw your ideas at me for finishing this! Doesn't have to be the shadowbox, either. Just wild ideas to make this more magical.

A variety of 3d cross stitch projects ranging from stitched together fabric and plastic canvas shapes.
This month's article is all about 3D #crossstitch. Ways to stitch more than just flat framed pieces and hoops!
Whether that's as simple as a biscornu or pendibulle, or a complex multi-pieced plastic canvas project designed to look like a small castle.

Two dnd dice themed cross stitch biscornu patterns, designed to be use a a dice jail or dice throne.
Absolutely no shame in trailing stitches across
the back. Especially with finishes like biscornu where it
does not matter at all if it's a little 'lumpy' π
Besides, the backsides are prettier this way. Look how
lovely they look!

a crochet work in progress of a tunic top worked in Bernat Lattice yarn
This month I've been trying to make progress on this tunic top I started back in 2024. It's been pretty slow going though. Not even much to see here yet. π
It has been a nice change of pace though!

I planned for a double-sided biscornu so you could just flip it to the appropriate side as called for. But photographing double-sided things is annoying, so I made two instead. π€£

The Biscornu basket sure has grown over the years. But believe it or not that second photo was just two years ago. π And the new one isn't even all of them, they wouldn't all fit on frame and also I couldn't be bothered to go hunt them all down. π

A shot of a tidy desk, centered on a literature sorter filled with boxes of bobbinated embroidery thread instead.
Do you sort your bobbins by number? Or by color? I... do both.
Is having two full sets of threads necessary? Absolutely not. But in my defense one set is actually CXC threads with are waaaay cheaper. π CXC is sorted by color, and DMC by number.

Four cross stitch designs finished as small square flat ornaments.
All use a pastel color theme. One features a cornucopia, another a basket full of eggs, a third has three candles surrounded by snowdrops, and the last features a cauldron full of roses.
These patterns are all now up on Etsy! If you're looking for some fun cross stitch designs that are quick to stitch and great for seasonal decor! The two spring themed ones are new, but they fit in great with my Cornucopia and Cauldron designs.

I'm not really a V-day kinda person. But it can be fun to design or stitch things outside your normal projects. Pinks and reds? Hearts? A new type of finish? First beaded border? That's how I manage to still be obsessed with this hobby after DECADES. Always trying something new!

The beginnings of a cross stitch project, with a backstitch outline square and the beginnings of a pattern being stitched in one corner.

A heart-shaped basket full of embroidery thread from a ton of different moments in time featuring very differnet labels.
A range of 9 different DMC embroidery thread skeins from various eras.
Labels sure have changed over the years! I haven't had much time to work on photoing the different types of thread labels. Currently I'm debating whether I should carefully take off the labels and flatten them for photos. But I feel bad doing that to the really old skeins like that super rare 929 π€
