Thinking someone at work likes me.... not sure how to approach the situation.
I'd be highly amused if that's how she found out. Not that the replacement will be any better.
I have three slots open for community-centered work! If you're trans, part of a trans-led org, and you're needing a digital space to call your own, reach out to me. I build websites and craft custom workflows and automations.
From a trans dev to the trans community: let's uplift each other!
Average transphobe: we have to ban gender affirming care because they might regret it. My evidence is that I once knew a person who said they were trans and then after I called them slurs, misgendered them, deadnamed them, and abused them for an extended period, they said they weren't trans anymore.
Yes.
Building community shouldn't include constant anxiety.
If you're trans or part of a trans-led org needing a security checkup, advice to avoid being doxxed (and what to do if it happens), or a website that doesn't track every click and keystroke, I'd love to help. My DMs are open.
We protect us.
Unpopular opinion:
Most small teams don’t need more tools.
They need fewer tools and better processes.
Half of “tech debt” is just “no one documented anything.”

You ever notice the disconnect early…
and still convince yourself you’re overthinking it?
Learning to trust your gut without becoming cynical is a skill I’m still building.
Emotional awareness is powerful.
But it’s also uncomfortable.

From a trans developer to the entire trans community: we are stronger than those who demonize us and try to criminalize our existence. Stick together. We can survive this.
Trans-led orgs, or any organization that supports trans folks, feel free to reach out for website assistance or help setting up secure systems to support our community.
The news coming from Kansas and other states breaks my heart. If you're fleeing such a situation and need digital support, please reach out to me.
I'm both paralyzed by fear and worry but also led to take action. However I can help, I feel obligated to.
Offering my assistance to any trans person starting over online who needs to secure their digital space or prop up a web page to help direct loved ones to your new socials.
From a trans web developer to all trans folks: you're not alone, and by sharing our skills we can protect each other.
Today’s build session:
- Refactored a script
- Fixed a logging bug
- Accidentally broke something else
Building your own tools is a varying mix between "oh I can do this myself, cool!" and "why did I do this to myself?"

I wrote a Python script that schedules skeets and logs hourly analytics into a spreadsheet because I wanted full control over my data.
If I can automate it, I will.
If I can self-host it, I probably should.
What’s the nerdiest thing you’ve built just for you?

MAKE AN EMERGENCY DONATION to Trans Continental Pipeline right now.
They are a Colorado based org that helps trans people relocate there and they are overwhelmed with requests. CO borders KS, and TCP has the infrastructure to help get people out.
GO DONATE.

Most small org “hacks” aren’t hacks.
They’re leftover access.
Quick digital safety audit you can do this week:
1. Separate admin + personal accounts
2. Enable MFA for all users
3. Review shared Drive folders older than 6 months
Boring security > dramatic recovery.

Sublime Text is my go-to. No genAI features that I'm aware of, and I sincerely hope it stays that way.
Me: I'll just make one tiny CSS tweak.
Website: All images shift 17.3px to the right, every third line of text breaks free of its div and clips out of the viewport.

Read Revival in high school and I think some of the themes made a mark on my impressionable mind. Even now I'll have strange dreams with Revival-esque themes.
So excited to finally be releasing v2 of Spyteware Studio's website! Months of effort has gone into overhauling the site entirely.
Changes include:
- Vanilla CSS -> TailwindCSS
- New "Work" page -> mini portfolio of highlighted projects
Coming soon:
- Digital resource library
Stay tuned!
Sublime for the win!
I’m turning what I’ve learned into a short, plain-English digital safety guide: no paranoia, no jargon.
“How to Keep My Shit Safe in 2026.”
Coming soon.

But here’s the thing: most people shouldn’t have to become IT professionals to stay safe.
Maybe you’re a creative. An entrepreneur. Someone doing community or charity work. Maybe your drive, your passion, lies somewhere else other than in IT or tech.
I see you, and you deserve to be safe, too.
I just kept asking myself: What did I do wrong? How did something so small lead to this?
That moment pushed me to understand how these attacks actually work: how systems fail, how attackers think, and what real protection looks like.
I clicked the wrong link. That’s all it took.
On the next reboot, my computer was locked — replaced by a ransom note from CryptoLocker.
I was 13 years old. I didn’t have the $500 ransom. I didn’t know what Bitcoin was, let alone how to buy it.
As I got older, stories of hacks and data leaks stopped feeling abstract.
I started wondering how safe I really was, and whether I even understood the risks.
Then it happened to me.
I became an IT professional out of a passion for tech, yes, but mostly out of a desire to understand how to be safe online.
As a kid, I roamed the internet thinking I was protected just because I was sitting at home behind a screen. (1/6)
1. A landmark study was just published in The Journal of Pediatrics.
It found a 68% reduction in suicidality for trans youth getting HRT.
It also found only 7 of more than 400 stopped taking HRT... and of those that did, 4 still identified as gender-diverse.
Transgender care saves lives.
