I had a chat with Eiko Fried about a new GWAS of Depression in 685.000 cases and 4.3 million controls... That's like all of Denmark? Here is the GWAS: https:...
is this an accidental Podcast? Eiko Fried & Michel Nivard discuss a new GWAS of depression preprint
I have been (foolishly?) searching for peak 2015-2017 twitter "science on socials" magic... In an experiment to recapture that excitement, I talked to @eikofried.bsky.social , in what might veer into podcast territory(?), about a new GWAS of Depression (N > 5 million) www.youtube.com/watch?v=vHvB...

Do you want to also plot additional custom sequences? (e.g. guideRNA, probes...) 🚩You can do that too! We provide an example file for this.

How does it work? ⚙️
1️⃣ Select the genome build (e.g. Human-hg38)
2️⃣ Write down the gene you want to visualise (e.g. CHD3)
3️⃣ Select as many transcripts as you would like to plot
4️⃣ Adapt the scale bar (in case your gene is bigger/smaller than the default one)
5️⃣ Export it as pdf

Make a schematic of your gene of interest and plot your custom sequences of interest
Looking for an online tool to plot your gene of interest? @joerydh.bsky.social and I have created #ExInPlotter. A shiny app where you can select a genome build (also non-human ones) and plot your gene(s) of interest.
Check it out here: jho2024.shinyapps.io/ExInPlotter/

Distinct genetic pathways to music enjoyment
bioRxiv - the preprint server for biology, operated by Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a research and educational institution
What makes us so susceptible to the power of music?
Our new pre-printed work suggests that genetic variation, primarily dissociated from other relevant perceptual-affective processes, also seems to be at play.

But the story does not end here ...
