Our recent study in the American Journal of Gastroenterology quantifies the association between IBD and 1583 other diseases.
We show that 312 affecting different organ systems are associated with IBD, including 125 that occur prior to IBD diagnosis.

Linéa Bonfils defended her PhD thesis
During her research, she found 1) multi-organ involvement in IBD up to 10 years prior to diagnosis; 2) paternal IBD to be almost as great a risk factor for IBD as maternal IBD during pregnancy, and 3) date of diagnosis in the Danish health registers to be valid

Our study on the risk of long-term consequences of COVID-19 in IMID patients has just been published in Gastro Hep Advances.
We report an increased risk of long-term consequences of COVID-19 in patients with IMIDs compared to their non-IMID counterparts.

Aleksejs Sazonovs delivered a keynote lecture at the “Biology of Health – Toward Molecular Preventive Medicine” event in Berlin.
He spoke about how lessons from IBD prediction can help us to approach this task for other conditions, enabling timely diagnosis and eventually prevention of these.
