The largest population-based study on sexual dysfunction among patients with IBD using the Danish SEXUS cohort has just been published in the Inflammatory Bowel Disease journal.

Our results indicate need for incorporation of sexual health in IBD care.

Our new study in @jinternmed.bsky.social shows that statin use is associated with a 16% reduction in the risk of IBD development. The findings suggest a potential additional benefit of statins and support further research into their role in IBD prevention.

The study provides the most detailed look at IBD in the UAE to date. Between 2002 and 2024, a nearly 13-fold increase in new IBD diagnoses was observed, with a significant number of Crohn’s disease patients presenting with an aggressive form of the disease at diagnosis.

We are excited to announce the first results from the collaborative UAE Epi-IBD Study, published in BMJ Frontline Gastroenterology.

He found 1) that existing evidence can be structured into a three-phase model of disease development – at-risk, initiation/expansion, and clinical onset, 2) subtle cytokine changes (IL-4, IL-17A) in very early-onset pediatric IBD, and 3) 25 metabolites at birth associated with later IBD.

In a new study in the Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology, we validated IBD diagnosis date and disease location from the Danish national registries - using records from the regional clinical North Denmark IBD cohort (NorDIBD) as the gold standard.
