The Epipocalypse: Bug Detectives Kickstarter unfortunately did not fund. π’
It is hopefully not the end, though! Help me make the relaunch more successful. For those who backed, how can I do better? For those that checked it out but didn't back, why not? Thanks!

The only hemorrhagic fever with ?treatment..Ribavarin. We had a case in Iowa last year. I believe the state epidemiologist presented it at IDWeek

Its amazing how little evidence we have for PEP!
16.10.2025 01:20 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Excellent and much needed data to fill the knowledge gap. I have always wondered if the discordant (negative margin, positive culture) really warrants prolonged antibiotic courses. Kudos!

06.10.2025 02:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Fascinating! Was also wondering about the cost. The technology is getting cheaper but still not cheap enough for large scale implementation.
02.10.2025 20:02 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We might not have had the antibiotic revolution if--
β’ Fleming had not left his plates out while he went on vacation
β’ he was less observant
β’ he didn't work next door to a mycologist
β’ the weather was warmer
β’ he didn't have brilliant colleagues to translate his discovery into a useful application
It can if the ova embolizes to the CNS. Love the schisto attention π.
One more thing.. is the snail an intermediate host or reservoir?
Would add S.haematobium to make upper Egypt residents happy. I acknowledge CNS involvement although things like swimmerβs itch, hematuria and bladder cancer are arguably more common. A shout out to Praziquantel would be nice too π

18.09.2025 02:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I kind of disagree with beef and pork as vectors. If you are talking about neurocysti specifically, feco-oral route is the only way humans can get it. Happy to be corrected
