Perpetually exhausted person. Likes reading, writing, but mostly watching TV. Particularly Nordic, not necessarily noir. I like dogs, the outdoors and decent people. I am more exhausted now than I was when I began this paragraph.

civilian protection
is not optional.

The protection of civilians must be at the centre of
all military decisions.

Millions at risk as Israel, US, and Iran unlawfully target energy infrastructure.

International humanitarian law is clear: military actions must not cause disproportionate harm to civilians or damage civilian objects.

Water companies before privatisation

£60 billion debt
£85 billion dividends
Water companies after privatisation

The British public has been robbed - and our waters polluted to an extreme - and STILL Labour are refusing to renationalise water, disgraceful

I've got a brilliant plan on how to free up more court time without taking away the right to trial by jury...stop prosecuting bs politically motivated cases such as this, and pensioners holding posters...

This is a shocking report. Staff at food banks have told GMB that some users are now so desperate, they're ripping open food parcels to eat as soon as they get them.

In the last year, Trussell has distributed more than 2.5 million emergency packages

Left: Rachel Reeves says post Brexit trade deals - which add 0.47% to GDP - are helping economic growth

Right: Keeping the UK outside the EU costs us 6-8% GDP

Only Keir Starmer's and Rachel Reeves's Labour could think that 0.47% is better than 6-8%

Had missed this. Seems my investigation on Democracy for Sale about Peter Mandelson’s lobbying firm working for the Qataris came up in Mandy’s due diligence!

(Am pretty sure I warned about this at the time of his US ambassador appointment…)

The transition to Net Zero study not only found that transitioning to zero Fossil Fuel before 2050 would be cheaper than not.

It also found the sooner we do it the more money we save.

If we were Net Zero right now we would be saving up to £39bn a year.

Our tiny independent business just had a £400 water bill for a *quarter* and the town we live in that relies on tourism has sewage in the sea. Do I care what Zack Polanski did 10 years ago or do I care that he wants to nationalise an actual shit show?

Daily Mail Headline:

Pupils' drawings could be blasphemous under Islamic law, Labour councils tell schools - while music and dance classes may go against the teachings of Islam

Oh boy! What a headline...

Ask yourself:

"What am I being asked to believe?"

"Who am I being told to blame?"

Take a few seconds to imagine what the Daily Mail (And Telegraph, GB News and Express) WANT you to think is going on.

Let's see what's ACTUALLY happening...🧵

Reaching net zero by 2050 ‘cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Awks for Tories & Reform who want to keep us hooked on fossil fuels: new @theCCCuk report shows transition to net zero will cost less than a single oil shock - £4bn a year - as well as delivering health & security benefits

It’s outrageous that the majority of our lawmakers are unelected. Sign now to demand power be placed rightfully in the hands of the people It takes 30 seconds

The Lords is still a home for cronies and donors. Removing the Hereditary Peers isn’t the end, it’s just the start. Demand a fair, elected second chamber now - sign @electoralreform.bsky.social's call to demand change. It takes 30 seconds action.electoral-reform.org.uk/page/174863/...

97% of wildflower meadows lost = our bees' food supply is running out.

We can’t bring the meadows back overnight, but we can turn our gardens and windowsills into lifesaving buffets for our precious bees.

Adult social care privatised since the 1980s. Local councils spend 70% of budget on it.

83% of social care controlled by private equity, 20%-40% profit margin.

Will Govt end profiteering, ensure only not-for-profit entities, including local councils, provide care.

Watch the Minister's reply.

Our dependency on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable. Wars across the world are pushing up prices for households in the UK.

Why keep waiting for the next crisis? We need to transition to clean power as fast as we can to protect people and our economy.

This is how our government has been corrupted:

1) Donors give huge sums to elect politicians
2) Elected officials rewrite rules in donors' favor
3) Donors make huge profit
4) Repeat

We must get big money out of politics. It’s the root of all evil in Washington.

A close-up, top-down view of a large, distinctive clump of white, branching lichen, commonly referred to as reindeer moss or reindeer lichen. The lichen is surrounded by a vibrant bed of green moss and scattered brown, dry, fallen leaves. The bright white color of the lichen contrasts sharply with the green moss and dark brown leaves, highlighting its unique texture and almost a heart shaped form.

Knowing that you love the earth changes you, activates you to defend and protect and celebrate. But when you feel that the earth loves you in return, that feeling transforms the relationship from a one-way street into a sacred bond. 🖤

Peter Mandelson, the Russian superyacht and the scandal we completely misread When Britain's most powerful political fixer was caught on an oligarch's boat in Corfu, we called it Yachtgate and moved on. The Epstein files now reveal the full picture: a web of Russian money, paed...

We are just begin to get an inkling of how deeply embedded Peter Mandelson and Tony Blair were/are with the sinister rich. Every time you think you've seen the worst of it, something else emerges.

How much more evidence do we need? The ultra-rich and the governments supporting them will destroy everything for the sake of profit, power and pride. Nothing is precious to them - not human life, not the living world - except their own wealth and status. Our survival depends on resisting them.

This is shocking. Labour lawyers ‘blocked’ from briefing MPs on jury trials overhaul before vote. The Prime Minister is completely out of control on this. MPs must come together and stop him from undermining & restricting a fundamental cornerstone of our democracy

When profit kills: How private equity is eroding health care Peer-reviewed studies link private equity takeovers to more deaths and medical complications in nearly every corner of healthcare.

Curse of Private Equity

US evidence shows:
When private equity incentives collide with clinical care, patients—especially those who are sicker, poorer, or harder to treat—are more likely to be killed or harmed.

Yet UK handing more of the NHS to PE, enabling it to make profits.
