We must respond to tragedies like these though is to radically support our communities and protect them

It’s hard to show compassion and kindness to those who wish you harm. I cannot show sympathy to a man who called for such violence against others, but I also think that such violence only begets more violence.

It’s fitting that today is 9/11. A tragic day historically weaponized against marginalized people as an excuse to enact violence against those who had nothing to do with it, all while willfully ignoring the true causes of it.
