I know this routine quite well, being a big fan of the film's leading lady...Nelson was very very good, but didn't somehow have the star quality that both Astaire and Kelly showed.

Coming to the end of Octavia Butler's Bloodchild, which has been slighty patchy but mostly very good (if not for the faint of heart!), also reading Jane Rule's Desert of the Heart, The Liverbirds (band, not TV show) biography and Essential Avengers Vol 7 (Englehart & Perez, mostly).

Good afternoon. Currently nearing the end of Zadie Smith's The Fraud, which as the Independent said, is 'splendidly modern and authentically old'. Also continuing my journey through Avengers history with Essential Volume 6, mostly written by Steve Englehart and illustrated by various hands.

Afternoon - almost evening! Currently reading last year's big one, Intermezzo by Sally Rooney. Also coming to the end of The Batgirl DC Showcase and most of the way through Reading Love & Rockets, by Marc Sobel.

Good afternoon. Am currently enjoying Rebecca F. Kuang's Yellowface; not quite a classic (so far!) but intelligent and extremely readable. Also still on Essential Avengers 2, where Roy Thomas has taken over from Stan the Man, and John Buscema is just around the corner...

#LetterboxedFriday I haven't actually watched four films this week (too many old TV episodes...), so no #LastFourWatched but I wanted to shout out Stick It, in particular, as a wonderfully entertaining and uplifting story. (Funny how Bridges' name, but not his face, is so often on the posters.)
