Writing in a bookshop's cafe always seems such higher pressure than a regular cafe.
I'm literally surrounded by the evidence of my successful predecessors here, but in a cafe I can at least pretend everyone writing around me is also failing miserably at achieving a liveable wage.

Jumped into re-reading one of my favourites to hopefully jog something loose instead.
Misogyny and Classism at work. Plenty of brothel owning men - many of whom were also clergymen - have owned these establishments and never received any tarnish to their reputation because they were already in power.
Shout-out to all those hard-nosed, law-respecting, do-what-it-takes cops and prosecutors who didn't do a thing about it.
This is another example of why I'm radicalized against prostitution laws: they're only ever used to prosecute poor women and the victims of sex trafficking.
I'm really feeling kind of drab about Christmas this year...but there is nothing more exciting to me right now than Boxing Day comic sales. It's like my birthday came early!!!
I started thinking everything European in origin could be called Maneur before realising that would definitely be pronounced Manure.
Manfra is an interesting term to me but I do think calling them comics/graphic novels feels right.
Though it might be easier when it comes to where they would be sitting in a bookshop to call them manga/manfra.
