He was not only talented, but a terrific human being. I am a big fan of libraries and hit him up numerous times for cartoons to sell at library fundraisers or to use on programs - he loved libraries too and always helped out. RIP.

If he did, anyone who was demanding he do so had to sign papers taking responsibility. Many did, the flag was lowered and the situation was diffused. No guns were fired. No National Guard called. This is the difference between wanting to bring the temperature down and wanting to cause it to explode.

At ASU, thousands surrounded a national flag demanding that it be lowered to honor those killed. Gov. Jack Williams sent word to Campus Security Chief John Duffy that the flag should not be lowered. Duffy sternly said that he had been ordered not to lower the flag. (Continued below)

During my college days at ASU, there was a powder keg moment I am reminded of today. 4 students were killed and 9 injured at Kent State University in Ohio by the Ohio National Guard during a rally against the expansion of the Vietnam War. Campuses everywhere erupted.

Terry Moran reported what he saw as the truth. In my opinion, this isn’t an “opinion” as much as a reporter who has observed an individual and reported on what he has observed. This is the kind of information. American needs to know.
