Canadian Cynic. Antifascist.
Pretty big gap underneath it where the fuel tank is...
The more time and resources they use doing this kind of thing the better though.
ICE multi-million-dollar ad blitz trolls sanctuary cities by poaching local police for deportations, sparking ire. Campaign dangles huge bonuses to lure cops frustrated with city policies, drawing fire from officials as a divisive, talent-stealing federal overreach to undermining local rule.

Trump will promise you the moon if you're dumb enough to praise him for it.
This reminds me a lot of when Obama wore a Tan suit and American Conservatives lost their goddamn minds.
Then when he came out liking Dijon mustard? Jesus Christ.
But they ignored the extrajudicial drone strikes. Huh...
So Taylor Field may be stuck in this cycle/trap but this is just a symptom of the overall problem of such flimsy-wibbly-wobbly planning that is already inherently unfair to huge swaths of the population through systemic barriers to entry.
We live under a dictatorship of Capital, not a democracy.
This is kind of the problem with the way the West plans things. We only plan for within a term of a politician or two, rather than have a fifty-year plan.
In this way, it means only causes with unstopping pressure get done, which usually means lobbyists. Those who have time/money to never stop.
βAsk for work. If they don't give you work, ask for bread. If they do not give you work or bread, then take bread.β

Same idea, but with housing. We're forcing a situation where reasonable people will be forced to do unreasonable things. The social contract is broken for the youth.
Frankly I'm just tired of being ruled by people who only take, and never give anything back unless it benefits them personally.
If cities won't take ownership of housing, then nobody is. So I don't fault the houseless for any violence they commit to get their needs met. They've been abandoned.
That sucks to hear. I hope things get better.

No, Harris deciding that genociding Arabs was worth losing the election over. She knew it was harming her position, and she didn't care.
Leaders are the reasons elections fail, not voters.
I know, I am familiar with the fact that America is not a Rome Statute Signatory, and that they have war plans to invade the Netherlands if any American is held accountable to International law.
So interrupting her selling her book sounds about as much justice as she will see.
Her and Biden's administration are the ones who provided the weapons for the genocide currently before the International Criminal Court.
If she was in any other Western country, we would send her to the Hague.
I'm not going to feel sorry a genocidal millionaire is having trouble selling a book.
Good.

The Commission recommends that all Member States: (a) Employ all means reasonably available to them to prevent the commission of genocide in the Gaza Strip; (b) Cease the transfer of arms and other equipment or items, including jet fuel, to the State of Israel or third States where there is reason to suspect their use in military operations that have involved or could involve the commission of genocide; (c) Ensure individuals and corporations in their territories and within their jurisdiction are not involved in the commission of genocide, aiding and assisting the commission of genocide or incitement to commit genocide and investigate and prosecute those who may be implicated in these crimes under international law; (d) Facilitate the investigations and domestic proceedings and take action (including imposing sanctions) against the State of Israel and against individuals or corporations that are involved in or facilitating the commission of genocide or incitement to commit genocide; (e) Cooperate with the investigation of the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court. 258. The Commission recommends that the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court: (a) Examine, within its continuing investigation in the Situation in the State of Palestine, the crime of genocide for amendment to existing arrest warrants and addition to future application for arrest warrants; (b) Examine the involvement of officials mentioned in this report for inclusion as those most responsible for international crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Today, the UN officially designated Israelβs assault on Gaza as a genocide.
As a party to the Genocide Convention, the U.S. has a legal obligation to obey our own laws, stop weapons sales to Israel, and demand a permanent ceasefire.
End the genocide. Ceasefire now.

I think it's made me a cynic, and likely driven me mad. But you just need to find humour in the absurdity of life. It's all insane and we are all going to die.
