I was thinking of this and the Trans Continental Pipeline (tcpipeline.org) because of the church that did whistle packing near me that had a sign that said "Trans lives are sacred."

I am seeing churches host mutual aid, confirmer/observer training, and so many other things.

This doesn't mean that religion has to be your particular thing; we all approach the world differently, and that's fine.

The right has tried to claim that religion is on their side, and the truth is that religion, like people in this country, spans the entire spectrum.

One thing I have learned spending hours coordinating addresses to send whistles to is that there are so, so many churches that are trying to protect people in this moment and making their spaces open for whistle kit making, community gathering, and so forth.

Churches are such crucial parts of a community, despite a ***small segment*** of churches using religion as a tool of hate.

This is why I am always angry when people respond to actual real issues of book banning with "ban the Bible" or "eff religious folks" stuff. It's so ignorant.

Y'all think I'm being hysterical but I can foresee a day not too far in the future where "The Outcast," "Rejoined," "Fissure Quest," and any other Star Trek episode that even remotely has any LGBT+ themes is going to quietly disappear from streaming due to FCC "regulations." That day is coming.

Colin, the comrade running the shelter-in-place food program I'm working at, told me that this week he's had to turn down asks from schools to supply food directly to their sheltering families. The reason? There's not enough money coming in for that amount of food.

Let's change that.
