I really wanted to know more about Renee Good, killed by ICE in January. Fortunately, my editor allowed me to take some time to do a deep dive into who she was before she died. Read and listen to what I found out about her from her Colorado tribe here: www.cpr.org/2026/03/11/r...
There’s nothing more obnoxious than when people celebrate being an asshole or “just saying what everyone’s thinking”
Yeah, dude, most people have edgy thoughts, and learn to keep them inside. It’s called control. What you’re doing is like being really proud of constantly shitting yourself.
This is one of the most important life skills we can possibly teach our children.

My wife has a story in the amazing sapphic collection! 💗
I hate this man so much, Just everything about him is such bumbling movie villain energy, but he's real and holds actual power. Fucking baffling the world is like this.
Just a reminder that there have always been bigoted women who claimed the mantle of feminism - and perhaps even advanced the rights of some women - while aggressively trampling on others that seemed to them to be impediments to white cishet women's power.

focusing on skill doesn't make your art better or make you like your art more. the most miserable self-loathing artists are often the most professionally skilled.
what makes you like your art is whether you actually like it, it's that simple. and if you don't like it, make something you will.
Two things here.
One, you don't sit there and whine about media coverage and headlines if things are going well.

There is no character, franchise or property that is worth more than a human being's security and peace of mind. It's an extremely basic empathy test.
"It takes a different kind of hero to help without a mask."

REST IN PEACE TO BREONNA TAYLOR (June 5, 1993 – March 13, 2020)
Look, I'm a descriptivist by nature in so much of the humanities... But I think the one place we ALL agree a descriptivist doesn't belong is in early childhood communication education. Young kids need communication prescribed for them. They need rules reinforced. They do not need automated yes men.
If you missed it:
This was published yesterday. I think it’s quite fun! About printing and print history, and letterpress particularly, and all sorts of related ideas. Very accessible to a non-technical audience, open access, I’d be delighted if you chose to read and share!
