Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.
Again, we ask: Why?

Talarico on Trumpworld's "short term pain" talking point: "I'd like them to tell that to the parents of the American troops who have lost their lives. That is not short term pain. That is pain that will last forever ... no one asked for this."
Murphy: I have great sympathy for our soldiers and our military leaders they are being given directions by a senile old man who is losing his mind. And so it's no surprise that this war is going horribly
Shouldn't be rare to see this said by a US senator
😕💰
Some folks treated me like a naive child for believing we had the money to cancel a portion of student loan debt
Yesterday, a lot of folks clocked this as market manipulation by screenshot and backspace.
Looks like someone in the White House made billions.
Sen. Martin Heinrich: “Remember when Republicans said we couldn't afford those tax credits for your healthcare?
Now they’re burning through almost a billion dollars a day on their Iran War”
I rarely do this, but here goes.
Dems should have VERY clear messaging on supplemental tied to the ouster of Whiskey Pete, Jared, and Witkoff. They've all ABSOLUTELY bolloxed the situation and if Trump wants $$, he needs to get rid of all of them.
I’ve said it before, but People magazine should get a Pulitzer for its coverage of this administration.
Chris Murphy: "I Just came from a two hour, closed door classified briefing on the war. It just confirmed to me it's totally incoherent. We are not gonna be able to achieve any of our stated objectives ... this is a disaster of epic proportions, a 10 day debacle"
Murphy: "Literally in my other ear I'm listening to Ted Cruz on another network explain why this mission is so essential to destroy the nuclear program. I may have to walk over there and tell him the admin is now briefing that getting rid of the nuclear program has nothing to do with this mission."
WALLACE: Why are we at war with Iran?
CHRIS MURPHY: Great question. The simplest explanation might be the one they gave 24 hours in that they've kind of tried to backtrack from since -- that Israel made us do it.
Q: “The president said he had to strike Iran because he believed Iran was going to strike US targets within 7 days, then he bumped that to 3 days…There are no US leaders or Israeli leaders who are making those same claims. Is he making this up?"
Leavitt: “The president is not making anything up.”
Sounds like Israel's explanation for bombing hospitals in Gaza.
NBC’s Richard Engel: “The White House meme campaign is outraging many former US military commanders… they say only someone who has never really seen combat would think it’s a joke and put out material like this.”
If you’re roughly my age, it’s wild to reflect on the optimism for the future Americans felt when Obama was elected — young Americans spontaneously took to the streets to celebrate! — and contrast with what we face today. The falloff over the past 18 years is hard to process.
goddamn is this a breath of fresh air after Allred 2024
Alaskan king crab and a $98k piano — Pentagon busted for $93 billion spending 'binge'
Sociopath is the word we should ask be using cuz that's what it is.
TAPPER: You know that if you vote against an additional $50 billion of funding for operations in Iran, that vote will be cast as you voting against the troops.
CHRIS MURPHY: Come on. The American people do not want this war. If you support the troops, you should be voting against this war.
For those of us who know 19th c. history, this feels like the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand territory...spiraling out of anyone's control, and a stupid idea to begin with.
the president has no idea what he has set in motion. none.

We're in uncharted territory- if WTI crude holds these gains tomorrow- the current rise of 29.9% or $27.16/bbl would be its largest single day price jump- in both percent and amount- ever. Ever. EVER.
love how we killed the old, frail anti-nuke ayatollah just to have him replaced with his young, healthy son who wants nukes and who just had his father, mother, wife, and child murdered on the same day by his mortal enemy. surely this will bring peace to the region
Iran’s people were facing a horrible shortage of water before the war began. If we are destroying desalination plants and setting fire to Teheran we are committing unfathomable crimes.
This Cobber will try not to take that too personally.🤣
Trump multiple times just today has said the country is at war. War can only be declared by Congress, and Iran posed no imminent threat. What Trump is doing there is a textbook illegal war and impeachable offense — if we still had a Congress.
Correct. It was not directed at Tom. It was actually in agreement with Tom, I just didn't know it.
