It has been nice following a protagonist put to his knees and seeing how he eventually starts to fight back, and what the cost of that choice actually is (and there is a cost, there's always a cost) /end thread

This compared to e.g. Governor, who always felt really shallow and your regular I'm-a-reasonable-man guy, or actual cannibals

He also actually likes kids, which makes him even more interesting

But then when it comes to weaker people, he doesn't need to go all the way to get them under his thumb

People are a resource, if they're all dead nobody provides for the Saviors

Negan knows how to break strong people, he overdoes it in a way that really drives the point home, but he doesn't kill willy-nilly

And it did take drastic measures to make that happen

I had started to grow a bit tired with the Manly Manliness of Rick which had been built up for six seasons, it was good to finally see him actually in tears and shook up
