As soon as I wrote that reply, I had a sneaking feeling you’d told me you’d read the book. Haha My bad. 🙃

If you want one from the "diaspora," I'll volunteer 😂 I grew up in the Hartford suburbs in the 80s and 90s with no Canadian ties, but became a Habs fan. Ended up at McGill. Now I live in the Boston suburbs and am trying to raise Habs fans (so far so good-- next month we go up for the season closer).

Quebec hockey fan crisis: Where have all our homegrown stars gone? Part 2 of our series about the culture, identity and business of fandom looks at why the province's pipeline of NHL stars has dried up.

Here is the second piece in my series, State of the Habs Fan. This one is about the lack of star Quebec players. The Habs used to be led by homegrown heroes and fans are disappointed that today there are no genuine Quebec stars in the NHL.

Could The Canadiens Trade For Help In Net? The Montreal Canadiens haven't had good goaltending this season, but could they go out and get some help in front of the net ahead of the deadline? It seems unlikely.

Has Elliotte Friedman said anything yet regarding his gross take about Ryan O’Reilly on HNIC?

“It’s kind of like dating, Ron - the more someone tells you no, the more attractive they get.”

In regard to O’Reilly not wanting to leave NSH. With the SA scandals in hockey, saying that on TV is a choice

Paramount’s Warner Bros. deal is a full-blown Hollywood inferno Viewers may find fewer choices - and fewer independent voices - on their screens if Paramount buys Warner Bros. Discovery

If the Netflix deal to swallow Warner Bros. felt like a five-alarm fire for the film industry, then the Paramount acquisition is a full-blown Hollywood inferno. If now isn't the time to panic, then when? www.theglobeandmail.com/culture/film...

Lots of fun stuff at Osheaga 26. Maybe the coolest thing is Wolf Parade strutting back into town to bask in their #HeatedRivalry glory. Oh and cue the old dudes saying, who the eff is Tate McRae?

Wings doc was really good because they made it part of the Beatles Cinematic Universe and they didn’t try to make the band bigger than they were.

It's a mentality.

He’s my take as a guy who has spent a ton of time around young goaltenders over the last 10 years. Teams aren’t selecting the best athletes and teaching them technique. They’re taking the kids who pose the best, whether they have any ability to stop the puck at all, and Hope they grow talent.

Hockey has become a rich kid's sport. And, for whatever reason, rich kids in Quebec would rather ski than play hockey now.
