Lastly, @ollie.bostoncubeparty.com's Doubleton Synergy Cube! The emergent synergies came exactly as advertised on the box. Went for a straightforward "GW beat you to death with counters" theme and got absolutely blasted by decks doing some crazy shit. A total delight, all the same. 1-2!

Next, @worklifevalue.bsky.social's Perilous Seas! Another straight banger, and as a fellow nautical nonsense-r myself, I was so happy to draft this fully Grixis desert cube, nautical flavor forward. I drafted a Commander-ass deck, slamming 3color Pirate legends + gy synergies for a clean 2-1. Bliss.

First, @nickzlmhc.bsky.social's Red Cube Wins! After p1p1 lightning bolt because ofc, I went into the Hot Deck ™️ with Don't Try This at Home. Highlight: while dead on board with no options, Trigger Happy my opponent's Count on Luck to rip Lava Spike for exactly 4 lethal damage (it's hot, ofc). 2-1!

On one hand, my heart says the weird shit. On the other, I'd worry- does doubling up on the fringe stuff increase the delta between the niche-r cards vs the spikiest ones (lone power cards seem even stronger), or does the newfound consistency actually close that gap? Hard question to answer, tbh

Having secured top 8, I'm ecstatic. This is about the ceiling of what I expected for myself. Drafted the GORGEOUS Anomeia Cube, drew a token I kicked myself for not snapping a pic of, and built a deck that, like Null Rod, does nothing lol. I was not, in fact, cooking. Still, I had a fantastic time!

Sunday morning, locked in, 3-0'd uncommon Cube for Top 8! Came in with a game plan (draft cards that do things) and started round 1 with the plan "clear the board -> hit in mouth". Went surprisingly well! 3-0/6-0 on the draft. Shout-out those overstatted vanilla beaters+gift of Orzhova frfr.

Unranked Saturday night, 0-3ish BONG Cube aka "I want to Channel Clown Car so bad" also aka "oops I might be really bad at vintage Cube(s), actually". (This is a recurring theme that may return later). This cube was incredibly sick + definitely the type I need to improve upon the most! No deck pic

1-2 on my foil curation of The Pauper Cube! I hit some flicker shenanigans, but got out valued by Sprout Swarm round 1, then just barely eked out by Vampire Sovereign -> Reanimate Vampire Sovereign -> Burst Lightning round 2. LLW for the silly little value pile.

2-1 on the 555-JANK cube by @andrewmagrini.bsky.social ! Pool + Deck was looking tight, p1p1 ancestral into "drafting snapcaster mage at any point" felt tremendous, backed up by some draft all-stars like Pack Rat to round out value. LWW over 3 rounds.
