the top shortage is bunk what we really need to address is the himejoshi shortage in fandom cultre. what do you mean i can look at a series like fucking danganronpa and see little to no lesbianism. are we joking. the market needs balance
oh boy time for my semimonthly bluesky scroll i hope everyone is exicted for 10+ notis fromyours truly

Apparently the Peri dev is insanely queerphobic, which is kinda funny because if I had to guess randomly I would've told you the game was made by a transgender lesbian based entirely on style and subject matter
you all got to understand that the extreme denial ppl have of trans readings or narratives unless it is said directly to the audience comes from an environment where lots of cis and trans ppl alike do not actually believe transness is an ontological mode of living and simply a cisfailure state

As several people have pointed out, I hit all these bullseyes completely by accident. But it pleases me that Jenny resonates in this way with her trans fans.
what if two girls had a horrible secret for ten years and now they have to be around each other constantly for the rest of their lives in the worst pressure cooker of all time? it would be gross and mean and sad. it would be Pinfeather.
play it nowwwww

ah i def don't care abt that stuff at all either i just think we care abt the artistic content of games a lil differently. which is cool! thank u for indulging me in this convo i enjoyed it a lot :-)
between elden ring and nightrein (conceptually), because elden ring plus dark souls but roguelike doesn't feel like "trying something" to me. ofc counting your chickens before they hatch and employing buzzwords is a bit foolhardy on my part but i think it's necessary evil to get real discussion
but i'm happy it worked for you more!! idk if i think iterative is itself a pejorative, more that if a project feels like only iteration i value that less than something that's trying to do more, & elden ring didn't feel like that to me unfortunately. i will say tho this does point to a clear diff
that's a good point!! i guess my distaste for the open world stuff does kinda lead me to fail to consider it as a genuine endeavor. and i don't *really* ever consider artist intention beyond context; it doesn't really matter to me why they went open world, i just know it feels careless 2 me
i was particular interested in your discussion of iteration! maybe repetition is a better word for me to use? it very much felt to me like elden ring was happy just to do more of the same rather than build on and evolve from its predecessors which is also the basis of my skepticism of nightrein!
