This week, we go in search of 'the prettiest village on the UK canals'
As always on a narrowboat, the journey there isn't straightforward. This one involves meeting two boats in 'The Narrows ' and the shock of a loud bang from the propeller!

Doing Europe’s last sleeper train that GOES ON A BOAT is one of our highlights of 2025.
We can’t wait to do it again!
Our summer on the Peak Forest canal proved to be impossible because of the low water everywhere. Which meant that our plan to visit my home town of Buxton had to be achieved by road instead.

Our narrowboat boat roof garden finally gave up and died (because we neglected it).
So obviously the sensible thing to do was… buy more plants and cruise to the middle of nowhere to try again.

We travelled on Europe's last train ferry, a 21-hour sleeper trip from Milan to Syracuse. It’s a unique journey where at one point, the train gets loaded onto a boat to cross the sea!
