The North Sedgemoor Local History Group deserves real recognition for this thoughtful exhibition. If you're in the area, it's well worth a visit β and even better if you can bring someone who might help piece together the stories behind the photos.

When communities are invited in, exhibitions become more than displays. They become stories that belong to people.

The best part? The organisers are asking the public to help identify people in the pictures. βWeβre hoping their relatives will come along and help us fill in the jigsaw,β they said. Love that.

πΈ Just saw a story about an amazing photo exhibition in Burnham-on-Sea β 140 years of local history on display: from Victorian beach days to 1953 coronation parties to long-lost railways.

Thinking about VE Day today.
Hard to imagine what it felt like in 1945 β relief, joy, exhaustion, silence.
So much of that history is still around us, just not always in plain sight. A photo on the wall, a name on a memorial, a story someone once told.
Itβs worth pausing for.
