Though I haven’t worked with any anti woke devs myself I do think devs maybe worried of potential backlash from the community’s preconception of the game before they play it. Which you can’t really control on the dev side or publisher side.

Unfortunately it is true that a lot of times they go the safe route and live service. But also a lot of times our “woke” games unfortunately don’t get past playtesting stages.
