I've come to realise that my favourite minis in Warhammer are the ones that are just standing there in a regular idling stance, instead of the ones in dynamic action poses. Just look at this cute fella! Best rat in the box, no contest

100%! I do like my contrasts. I find they can get me to where some careful base coating/shading/highlighting gets me in half the time or less. Then onto the detail work, like you're saying :) just another tool in the kit!

Yeah! I've been meaning to give the furnace a try with the renegade rules, I just haven't had the time to paint it up till now! Looking forward to getting it on the table :)

I try not to rely too heavily on contrast paints, but they've certainly helped get through all this wood, at least as a base. Glad I picked up another colour as well.
