I hate paying extra for proxy buyers since I don't need help navigating Japanese sites, and they can be slow to buy time-sensitive items.
One of the direct partners, AOCS, seems to act as a forwarder rather than a proxy. Integration seems smooth on the account they set up for you, at least.
