I am in an existential crisis because I realized I kind of hate my barn job (mostly the time of day I have to do it because turn in is so late) but I don’t have enough clients to trim full time and I don’t know what to do🙃🙃🙃🙃

I just love very suddenly having the worst period of my life and having to ask someone else to take over evening chores for me when I was already there. I also had to pull over on the highway cause I thought I was gonna puke and was dizzy from pain. Woohoo

GI appointments are so weird cause when have I ever had to talk about my poop that much 💀

I am so so grateful to finally have gotten my anxiety meds figured out. Busprione knocks out the mental symptoms, propranolol knocks out the physical symptoms. It’s pretty amazing

Something shitty about my anxiety: I literally get anxiety about taking the medication that stops my anxiety🤦‍♀️

4/5 Also, her issues would have caused pain every time she opened the mouth for the bit when bridling, caused contact to be painful, and any lateral flexion asked with the bit would cause pain cause the bit moves the jaw one way during flexion. So that’s fun. Overall so glad shes getting sorted now!

3/5 “Checked teeth” by feeling in her mouth a month ago. (Which I now know is BS cause they can’t feel all the teeth anyway or check imbalances). I’m so angry that she’s been dealing with this for so long. It’s so scary that I would never have known otherwise.

2/5 So she will have floats every 6 months for awhile to fully correct it over time. She also had large and sharp hooks that caused sores in her mouth that luckily will heal on their own. I’m pissed cause my old vet never corrected or mentioned this at floats, and didn’t even notice when he-

This imbalance is causing the malocclusion. In the after photo you can see the higher side is now lower and much closer in height to the lower side. The teeth also are rounded so no more sharp edges

1/5 Yesterday, Zoey had a new vet that specializes more in dental check her out. Turns out she has pretty severe malocclusion that is likely chronic and has been causing her pain in her mouth and TMJ for years. It’s bad enough they couldn’t correct it all without shortening her teeth too much-

My mom’s getting an endoscopy today, and it feels so strange to be the one that they call to confirm I’m picking her up and that I’m gonna babysit her for 24hrs. Role reversal moment

Okay, apparently she doesn’t hate ME (yet, after 3 weeks of this who knows) she just hates when I grab her halter while she’s wearing it cause that’s the precursor to meds. She still comes up to me tho and wants post dinner snuggles which is a good sign

Hopefully if she does have any clinical change with the meds we can switch to something else that doesn’t require an oral syringe and fasting so she won’t hate everyone anymore

Zoey very much hates me and everyone who does chores rn after starting her trial of EPM meds. 42ml orally once a day and it cant be mixed with anything tasty and she has to fast an hour before and an hour after so I can’t even give her a treat after the syringe😭 sorry Zoey

Thank you Minnesota, now I can go back to physical therapy, I can get my dental, orthodontics and my eye care covered, I can go to therapy. Hurray!

Over 6 months, 1 denied application, but I finally have medicaid. And minnesotas medicaid programs in specific are really amazing so this will help a ton. Still need to apply for financial assistance and a hardship form for medical bills from last year, but at least I have good coverage now.

I’ve been giving zoey chin scratches after she eats dinner the past couple weeks. It’s such a small thing but it’s actually improved our relationship so much? She went from being a bit standoffish about scratches a lot of the time to today starting to offer specific spots on her face! It’s so cool!!

I just saw someone say, make America safe again, and vote brad schimel in the same sentence. Fucking delusion. Or maybe it’s just self admittance that they give 0 shits about victims of sexual abuse and now they can say it publically without a care.

And today, she ate all of her supplements even with the near full amount of copper and zinc. Hurray!!
