One of my favorite genres is Reality vs the Irreal. Shin Godzilla. Adolescence of Utena. The Beetlejuice cartoon's Nether World being initially a way to not say "netherworld," and morphing into a place that isn't. Spider and Cordelia. The climaxes of various Moore & Morrison apocalypses.

the marketing for this show "monarch" is fascinating, because
a). they're not billing the monster very prominently so idk if anybody knows what it's about
b). they managed to make kurt russell look like bill murray
c). the logo looks like a bank
