Very, very excited to see Spencer stick around with the Nats, as well as that all these great writers found a suitable home.

Congratulations, RJ!
I really think there's a (small) chance Cavalli goes Garrett Crochet mode this season. I am still very in. bsky.app/profile/then...
I cannot overstate enough: This rating remains in effect.
Teams that go the MLB route can also make a deal with local cable providers to have them air games on a dedicated channel, but I don't know how common it is or if they'll actually do it
Please, please support Mark! He does great work, and as the only independent Nats beat writer, he deserves your support.
good blog
It really came out when I talked about their "right to win"
Thanks Chris!
I'm hopeful something will come together; there's too much interest for there not to.
A little off my usual topic, but: I wrote about the Washington Post layoffs, how avoidable they were, and how much we (Nats fans, DC residents, anyone) are losing in the process. wfcg.substack.com/p/wfcg-7-jef...
I am beyond angry about what's happening at the Post today. A newspaper must not be a plaything for billionaires. This decision spits in the face of every DC native who cherished the Post, not to mention its incredible staff. Needless to say, my subscription is canceled.
I'm so sad to see this. Dan was one-of-one. I'm thinking of his family.
Bluesky gets the alt version of my take on this, which is: no god please no
If nothing else, I’ve always hoped our work in the Washington Post’s sports section could give readers a meaningful connection to (and understanding of) something bigger than themselves.
I’ve seen today: It has. Forever grateful to be a part of this team. #SaveThePost
He's not nothing, but it doesn't really move the needle in my view. It's still two top-100 guys vs a package with none.
really hate the idea of a “heavy model/surplus value deal” wfcg.substack.com/p/wfcg-6-nat...
what an excellent article you've shared
I love Craig but this is an insane take. The only way they would be down the path to trading Wood is if they continue to suck late-Rizzo style and not develop a single worthwhile player in the next three years.
I dislike the Nationals being smart now
Watching? No, obviously. Tweeting about? You betcha.
I hadn't! This is wild.
Fien was the 12th overall pick in this year's draft, a high school shortstop whose bat is ahead of his glove. Rosario was a huge pop-up name, who broke out in 2024 and looked like an ace until he needed Tommy John. He should be back this season.
Yooooo
I don’t live in DC! This is Rasch’s domain.
As @ajflax.bsky.social pointed out on the other app, every team has given out a $20 million plus contract since the Nats last gave one out. Embarrassing stuff from ownership
Congrats Varun, and best of luck on what's next!
He’s an up and down swingman at best.
I'm sure I don't know what you mean...
