There is a real, genuine 1st Amendment crisis in the United States right now.

The government is openly retaliating against anyone with a viewpoint it doesn't like: Pro-Palestinian protesters, law schools teaching Black History, pro-immigration public service loan forgiveness seekers.

This also highlights the total cowardice of Biden, Garland, and Smith. This high profile arrest clearly violates numerous laws and constitutional protections. Yet Smith was such a coward that he didn't even argue to jail Trump pre-trial in the docs case even though that was standard in such cases.

UPDATE — Secretary of State Marco Rubio has now commented on the Trump admin’s detaining & attempted green card revocation of a Columbia Gaza encampment student negotiator:
“We will be revoking the visas and/or green cards of Hamas supporters in America so they can be deported.”

“May we find opportunities for small revolutions in the everyday” is a phrase I’ve clung to for the past three years. Highly recommended.
