Found this on the AO3 subreddit, and I'm about to let it change my whole life (or at least work really hard to internalize it wrt my writing).

This was perfect- just the right amount of reading to satisfy just before going into work.

Most of the time I prefer reading in present tense. I don’t mind past tense within the fic- so long as it’s obvious- header, italics, something to tell me it’s past especially if it is not very clear
