As sure as day follows night, the gas cartel is rolling out its spin campaign to avoid a retrospective gas reservation scheme. But letβs hope their day of reckoning is upon them. Australians first - itβs OUR gas! Go hard @albomp.bsky.social! #auspol

βBecause if Labor is to act at all on what needs to be done, then it only has next year. The year after that is straight back into election mode, when reforms tend to be short term and even shorter-sighted.β
An actual decent FOI law change (rather than the friendless bill before the parliament now) would be to actually have some sort of penalty for documents of government that should be retained for FOI purposes but aren't (such as disappearing messages in certain apps)

05.12.2025 04:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0All those thinking the private sector would find a way to solve climate change, when of course all it was ever going to do was find ways to produce even more emissions and f*ck the environment royally.
Because well... that's all it ever has done.
βGraduating this year means a lot to all of us. We spent our 5th & 6th years of medical school during the war β learning through fear, loss and so much uncertainty. It hasnβt been easy, but weβre proud that we supported each other, and never gave up.β

Potentially significant cuts are coming to the Australian Public Service and I want to know what this means for service delivery and for jobs.
Labor promised to protect the APS, they need to honour that promise.

These are diabolical pollution numbers that suggest we are on track for cataclysmic climate change.
48% is a country mile away from the 62% emissions reduction that Labor promised.

In the face of a worsening climate crisis, the work of CSIRO is vital to Australians and our future generations. We should be strengthening our research capacity, not running it into the ground. We must do all we can to save the CSIRO. Thatβs why weβve secured a Senate inquiry.

Australia Institute research shows that Australia is currently expanding fossil fuels.
