Slightly behind on work & it's rainy, so I'm reviewing for @learnedpublishing.bsky.social today. Got my pot of Cold Weather Warrior from @birdandblendtea.bsky.social, good tunes (thanks to @heatherstaines.bsky.social for re-igniting my love of Pulp!) & Monster Munch as a reward for finishing

Having cleared out the homes of several elderly relatives that followed that approach, I can confidently say it's not for me!

Thank you for reminding me why I need to keep going on my small-and-often approach!
Pick a shelf (or a topic), allocate no more than 30 minutes, and just get it done. Repeat every few weeks (also works for kitchen paraphernalia, craft materials, clothes, etc.).

Tell us what we're getting right - and wrong - by responding to the @countermetrics.bsky.social survey. It's open to everyone, not just members, and is your chance to shape what we do.

Lastly, we'll hear from the ever-wonderful @jemerypdx.bsky.social on retaking the library from protestors.
Like I said, a cracking line-up - hope to see you all there!

I'm looking forward to this @uksg.bsky.social webinar on usage metrics! It's happening a week after Uncovered, so you get two UKSG events in one month. Uncovered is about managing uncertainty and risk in our ever-changing world, and it's a cracker of a speaker line up: www.uksg.org/events/uksg-...

Saw a new consultant yesterday for dodgy knee & even more dodgy shoulder.
1. I'm not allowed to do anything with my arm until tomorrow, so I'm sorry if you're waiting on something from me
2. PSA "Your shoulder is not supposed to sound like a maraca"

No credit required, I just didn't expect anyone to want to use one of my scribbles (though I do kind of want to tell my GCSE Art teacher, just to show that artistic merit has no bearing on visibility π)

That scribble is in one of my @ieeexplore.bsky.social notebooks (because spiral bound is the best!) and I think it was used for our community survey a couple of years ago

We've also had two emergency vet visits (for different cats, both now fine), and the car suspension needed to be replaced, all in the last six weeks. I could really do with this run of minor disasters being over!

@countermetrics.bsky.social tried ai translation last year for our friendly guides and the outputs were unusable. I want to try again this year with languages we've not manually done, but need humans to check the translation quality!
