It's a very good question, and I can speculate as to the answer. Either way, the next Democratic president (if we have one... ) needs to not only investigate and prosecute everyone listed in the files: they need to do the same for anyone and everyone who covered this up.

I remember that people who read the transcript thought Joe won. Having watched twice, I agree. He spoke softly and with a raspy voice, but he clearly knew what he was talking about. He misspoke -- because he's Joe -- but even the "Medicare" line was about letting Medicare negotiate drug prices.

But we know the answer to that first question. Why even frame it like that?

It sounds insane to us because we can see the lasting damage of Trump traefectas: SCOTUS, for one, is gone for at least a generation. The "I didn't get everything, so no one gets anything" people are accelerationists: this is the Surandon-esque "Trump will bring on the revolution" people.
