The latter will be a connected series of modules.

48 pages of editing the new module “Better Off Undead” and I have found my favorite sentence. It deals with ‘clever tactics improving a character’s chances of survival.’

“Those entering the tomb overzealous and eager for death will find it there.”

This one is a style mash-up of that and David Sutherland’s I6 Ravenloft map. Hexes are 120 ft to support B/X movement rates.

My husband is an artist who makes orreries (clockwork planetary models) out of metal and glass. When I was struggling to finish my novel, he made me a deal: if I finished the book, he'd make me an orrery based on the world of my novel.

The obvious “drawback” is that it is busier and less streamlined. But that table handles it efficiently. The trade off is engaging and exciting combat in which both the players & the DM are reacting to a dynamically changing game state that is far less predictable than a static initiative order.

Dynamic Individual Initiative.

Initiative is rolled, individually, at the beginning of each round.

Inspired by earlier editions, I starting using this to make combat more dynamic, less-predictable. That table really enjoys it and rolling for initiative each round is exciting & engaging.
