AOC and Bernie in front of the rally crowd in Denver Zoomed out crowd shot of 34,000 people in downtown Denver with Colorado mountains in the background

Tonight an unbelievable **34,000 people** gathered for our Denver rally to take on billionaires and win our country back.

This was the largest political gathering in Denver since Obama in 2008.

Also bigger than the 2024 DNC.

And the largest ever rally in Bernie’s career (and obviously, mine too).

Wired is dropping paywalls for FOIA-based reporting. Others should follow As the administration does its best to hide public records from the public, Wired magazine is stepping up to help stem the secrecy

They're called public records for a reason. Starting today, WIRED will *stop paywalling* articles that are primarily based on public records obtained through the Freedom of Information Act, becoming the first publication to partner with @freedom.press to offer this for our new coverage.

Have any Indivisibles or other organizers thought about a mad billboard campaign in red states to ask people how they are feeling now? Reminding them how much of each dollar they ever earned went to Social Security or Medicare? Isn’t Social Security 12.5 cents per dollar?

As a 34 year Public School Educator, I can say with certainty, if allowed to go through, these cuts to the Department of Education will have impacts for generations to come.

The SAVE Act Would Disenfranchise Millions of Citizens The SAVE Act would require all Americans to prove their citizenship with documentation unavailable to millions and upend the way every American citizen registers to vote.

Please spread awareness of the GOP's attempt to remove voting rights from millions of Americans- including 60+ million women who changed their name when they married. They can't convince us they have better policies so they want to keep us from voting. They're actively destroying democracy. #SAVEAct

Remember, the president does not have the authority to unilaterally shut down the Education Department. Doing so would require an act of Congress and at least 60 votes in the Senate.

Here, America, is the *real* response to Trump’s address to Congress tonight you need to hear. Circulate it as widely as you can among friends, neighbours, workmates, members of your church. Circulate it especially among Trump voters, so that they can know the needless viciousness of what he’s done.

Why Consumers Are Holding an 'Economic Blackout' Today The blackout arrives as consumers are growing weary of rising prices on goods and services.

Today, American consumers are being encouraged to abstain from purchasing any non-essential goods as part of a 24-hour buying blackout that aims to showcase the economic power of everyday people. The goal is to advocate for “economic resistance, government accountability, and corporate reform.”

What Democrats Did Today
Feb. 27, 2025

—Every single Senate Democrat voted against advancing Linda McMahon’s nomination for Secretary of Education
—Thanks to Democratic members of Congress and veterans, the VA has paused billions in cuts to health services for vets
—More than 100 House Democrats joined together demanding answers on Energy Department firings
—Representative Sam Liccardo introduced the Modern Emoluments And Malfeasance Enforcement (MEME) Act to ban federal officials from capitalizing on personal meme coins like Donald Trump’s $TRUMP
—New York Attorney General Letitia James filed a brief with a multistate coalition to take legal action against Trump’s transgender military ban
—Senate Democrats opened an investigation into DOGE's failure to protect sensitive national security information

@stealthygeek.bsky.social: “Democrats should be running daily press briefings from a shadow White House pool of the legitimate news agencies which have been locked out by the Trump coup. Their audiences will get real news, Dems will regain some messaging control.

Why is this not already happening?”

one thing that's worth pointing out about the current wave of constituent fury at Republican town halls: the reason you're primarily seeing those viral moments in ruby red districts is because every Republican whose district is even remotely competitive is actively hiding from their constituents

Congress: Save Medicaid Now Politicians are attempting to pass devastating cuts to Medicaid right now and we must act fast. Send a message telling your member of Congress to fight back now.

The House could vote next week on drastic cuts to Medicaid that would gut critical programs that protect the civil rights and dignity of millions of Americans — including people with disabilities.

Contact your member of Congress: No cuts to Medicaid.

User Clip: Maine Maine

The most notable thing about this clip from the president's address to the governors is the way Maine Gov. Janet Mills stood up to Trump.

And the second most notable thing is the absolute stone-faced silence from the other governors in the room.
