and if the times political narratives/views were broadly adopted by the mainstream and consistently percolated as people here suggest, we'd have president amy klobuchar and new york mayor andrew cuomo.

The lack of any real measurement of these "downstream effects" creates a gap in our understanding of how news travels today. There isn't really data out there showing how much podcasters/youtubers/news influencers are using narratives from the NYT to shape what they say.
