Also it didn't show up in the search bar so I'm adding this separately. But this is THE game that I came across at 5 years old, and shaped my tastes so much growing up.
I don't know if there's any throughline between these, but all of these definitely had some form of major impact on me. Some from my childhood, others from my adulthood.
Yeah

I'll need to do one of these.

Sarah, this is your friend shad, coming to tell you- as the greatest Itachi uchiha Stan in history you are obligated to do the ninja quest. This is not a request.
Also, karasu.
Just imagine a tall, dark and unreasonably handsome elf wizard astral projecting to you and giving you advise.
I can't join you right now, but I'll be there with you in spirit as you embark on this incredible journey. 😌
The malazan series definitely had a very ttrpg vibe to it (I should actually continue it myself at some point).
Chavez in 2009, while being labelled as paranoid, outlines exactly what is happening today.
Astor comes home to find his book missing.
Literally a publication for eight-year olds 40 years ago
The irony of GW calling 2025 the "year of chaos" and barely giving us anything (aside from an admittedly sick fulgrim model) is not lost on me.
But ya, chaos is hardly given much spotlight nowadays besides as default bad guys.
Also, the moment I freaking saw the silhouette of a falcon tank, I gasped. My beloved space elves... Could they be in the game too?
And then not even an hour later they announced on the community page that the starting factions will in fact include the aeldari.
The way I freaking screamed the moment I realized what this is. I've been waiting for this for SO LONG. Most of the 40k community had been waiting for it for so long. But we never were sure if it'll be real.
Well, here we freaking are baby!!!
youtu.be/QeCItSg-wmI?...
Total war 40k!!!
IT'S SO GOOD! Some of the scenes are stuck in my mind still.
Fun little Shad fact- I've acted as professor Delacey (the blind old man the creature becomes friends with) on stage once.
There's so much good in this film. The cast, the script, the direction, the set design. The way it stayed as close to the novel as I honestly think was possible. Absolutely wonderful.
So... This is the best adaptation of Frankenstein we're gonna get in this lifetime, huh? #frankenstein

I should actually go through with a dalish elf run. I stopped half way through last time.
Probably how most actual duels in history went too.
Ya, that's pretty much it. And geomancer kinda got buried by astrologer.
Ranger though, I want to believe is still possible. Give them a crossbow to differentiate them from bards. Hell, they could make them a split class for archers for all I know.
Chemist was one of the classes I predicted for a long time to become playable, alongside geomancer and ranger. But none of those came true. 😔
Understood I'll keep that in mind ty!
Ya I don't mind skimping out on the processor, I'm ok with i5 or ryzen 5. I don't even mind a little less ram cause I can always expand it later.
Sadly I can't seem to find a 30 series laptop on the market that isn't a 50. I'll have to look around a bit more.
I'm also looking for something in the 30 (or the AMD equivalent) for mine. Laptop with 40 of just a bit out of my budget atm.
The model I've got my eyes on for now is an MSI with a 3050.
Ah, I was actually planning to buy a gaming laptop next year and I did consider the nitro. What GPU did yours have?
