This started out as a plein air painting from the view of my studio window, but the morning light changed to dull gray and snow. The rest was finished from memory, and I purposefully separated some of the marks to make it more mosaic-like.

It kills me when people go “oh the system of Redemption reinforces puritanical ideas” because oh gee IF ONLY THERE WAS A MUSICAL NUMBER DEMONSTRATING IT DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY AND DESIGNED TO HUMILIATE THE CHARACTER SUGGESTING THAT IT EVER POSSIBLY COULD

I said it before and I will say it again: the show and character writing is too clever for the target audience and I‘m loving every second of it. (Not the onli discourse though. No thank you.)
