Haven't seen this posted yet this year, so here's a chart showing the average size, mass, volume, and area of a stoat, the official measure of March Mammal Madness contestants.

Good to know! I want to attend again, because I want to take more notes (so much great info!). But I also wanted to make room for those who didnβt attend the first time.

This beanie features a lime green back ground and bees and coneflowers done with 2 colors - dark brown and magenta/peach.
This view shows the honeycomb stitch and the way it narrows down to meet at the top of the hat in a star shape. Behind is a flowering jade plant. #gardening
This is my latest beanie pattern that I just published to Ravelry today. www.ravelry.com/patterns/lib...

27.02.2025 03:59 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0A blue infographic gives a step by step guide on how to Skype a scientist. The steps are: 1) sign up on skypeascientist.com 2) pick a category of science your group would like to talk about (e.g. marine biology, chemistry, astronomy) 3) get a match via email 4) connect with your scientist, discuss your ur groupβs needs and pick a time to chat 5) talk to your scientist!
Hi! We're Skype a Scientist! We're a free program that matches scientists with classrooms, scout troops, libraries, & other groups for Q&As all about science.

Itβs not too late to improve the situation until weβre all dead.
This is another of my own key takeaways from reading a lot of history.
This is one of those days when the wind howls, the fuels are dry, and the fire eats homes. But winds like this can't last forever. We need to be in position with a plan before those winds start to recede.
Good luck all. 7/7
Since announcing this, tiktok went down, came back, & blasted Trump propaganda 2x. The internet will be an even tougher place for science.
I have enough to fund ~5 of these projects. More than 5 should be funded. They're going to be v important.
Help us fund more if you can.

20.01.2025 23:45 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One of the best books I read last year, and I almost didnβt read it. I mistakenly thought reading about the struggle of the black working class against white supremacy in our country would sadden me even more after the election. Instead it gave me much needed perspective, learning, and hope.
20.01.2025 15:37 β π 5 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0I will be reading this again and again in the days ahead and taking the wisdom in it to heart and to action, even if my actions feel small and inconsequential in the face of it all.

14.01.2025 15:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am extremely excited to announce that for the first time ever, Skype a Scientist is offering mini-grants to support IRL science communication!!
Communicating science out in our communities is critical. We want to enable others to get their projects off the ground!
