Democrats can certainly do better, but their target audience includes critical thinkers and skeptics who are less susceptible to "sales pitches." Trump cornered the market on lizard brains that run on fear and self-preservation. If Democrats could do that effectively, they'd be Republicans.

I think it's some of both. The Trump administration is completely clueless about how to dismantle the government in an orderly fashion so that the frog boils to death slowly, but they don't care because napalm works too. And by the time we realize he napalmed the frog, he's building condos in Gaza.

I agree with you, and I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but there are no consequences for a Cabinet official lying to a federal judge in this administration. Lying is a badge of honor of loyalty, whereas telling the truth or apologizing are signs of weakness and fireable offenses.
