I've seen this movie
These people are poison. They will unleash racist thugs on the streets of this country and call it security. They will subjugate us to the US and call it patriotism. They must be stopped. There is no more important task in politics.
My day job is a university lecturer - I have often wondered what will happen to universities if Reform get in, and now we know.
The current system of university funding isn't working for anyone (students, graduates, universities, or taxpayers) and until it's changed, there will be more closures like this:

There is no strategy

Staffs County Council leader has made some appalling social media comments, which are detailed in the article below.
This has been around for a few weeks but I only saw it today. Very measured thoughts on how we should think about AI and the future of work for young people.
TONIGHT!
Do you live in or around Lichfield? Are you curious as to what the Lib Dems do and how you might contribute?
You are welcome this evening 6.30-8.30pm at Erasmus Darwin House to meet us and find out.
No need to rsvp, just drop in.
Credit where credit is due: removing the two-child benefit cap is the right thing to have done.
Great win in the West Midlands 👍
I've signed the open letter in the thread below, and urge all Lib Dem members to do the same.
I await the equivalent decision in Staffordshire with great interest.
A fine thread opposing ID cards. I too am against this sort of thing.
Liberal Democrats cannot support mandatory digital IDs. People shouldn't be criminalised just because they don't want to hand over their private data.
The annoying thing here is that the Lib Dems talk policy quite a lot and get ignored by the media, which is what Davey's stunts were a response to in the first place. I don't think he's addicted to stunts. I'm sure he'd love it if his policies got covered

It's Reform's stated ambition to copy the Lib Dems'
election strategies, both locally and nationally. But if you look at the candidate training listed for the upcoming Lib Dem conference, you realise *just how seriously and in detail* the Lib Dems take all of this. Doesn't happen overnight.
The worst of all possible proposals.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.
Keen to explain to my students the difference between bending and torsion, I picked up the first cylindrical object I could see and snapped my pen in two.
