This is why I find it excruciatingly hilarious to believe that Canadians are going to fight against fascism. Sit down. Y’all don’t even have the gumption to challenge authority

Oh. Look. A prime example
Just say you’re subjects of America and keep it pushing because Canadian sovereignty is looking like a joke

This is why I thought elbows up was bullshit because at the end of the day this country has made folding to opposition a national pastime. Weakness blankets this country like snow

Gitanmaax charts a tough course ahead to keep kids in community How a First Nation’s visionaries are rebuilding sovereignty over child welfare on their own terms

The Gitanmaax First Nation are reclaiming sovereignty over their own children by building a mutual aid community team to intercede and protect each other from the government stealing their children.
Good for them! The key function of a society is reproducing caregiving adults in the next generation.

My own version of the tradish designs put on red bands that are popular here in Aotearoa. Complete with my Yup'ik calling name in them. Family marks and marks for protection and all. Just need a clear coat, and I'll be set

Also change the name and profile picture on the old account?

Or do your posts contain identifiable info, too?

I've only ever deleted one "placeholder" account, that was Twitter after the Nazi salute.

Never staying anywhere where the ownership/management is doing that.

Change the bio on your old account to indicate that you are indefinitely on hiatus, stop using it, but keep the login and password handy in case you want to go back?

I know too many people who have later regretted deleting an old account, which was avoidable by putting it on ice.

Just watch: the Duffer Bros will retcon the origin of "hoodie" to their Stranger Things characters.

Coincidentally, I coined the put down "No duh!" riffing off the more positive "No doubt!", in Grade 1, in Prince Albert, SK, in the early 80s.

All the kids in PA were using it by Grade 2. #TrueStory

The reciprocal mobility agreement between law societies allows 100 days per year of temporary practice in jurisdictions in which you are not licensed.

I suggest you review the agreement for full details of compliance requirements.

You could provide occasional pro bono in AB under the exemption.

Indigenous B.C. mom’s years-long legal fight comes to an end with Supreme Court of Canada decision The Supreme Court of Canada will not hear an appeal of a decision awarding $150,000 in damages for discrimination to an Indigenous mom in B.C. whose children were taken from her and put in foster care...

An Indigenous woman was awarded $150,000 for violations of her human rights because BC took her children.

That award was overturned by a judge in the BC Supreme Court.

This year, the BC Court of Appeal restored the award.

The SCC recently decided that it will not hear a further appeal.

Last day to add your voice to the most opposed city budget in Vancouver history!

ABC's slash-and-burn budget harms the whole city, including:

-the Equity Office
-Climate and Sustainability Department
-Britannia Community Centre
-Vancouver Public Library
-Parks Board.

All to help the filthy rich.

But people seem unable to learn that a promise of centrism is
at best about maintaining the status quo, and
at worst a lie to move everything closer to the far right
in service of the insatiable greed of the filthy rich.

So many people who supported me as an NDP candidate in the 2019 and 2021 federal elections got suckered by ABC's claim that they are a "centrist" party in the 2022 municipal election.

I hope that those people really see now who they voted for, and don't make the same mistake twice.

Hoooly This is a blow- but he did it the right way. Thomas King admits he is not #Indigenous. I can tell you several journos were investigating- the Cherokee said there were no recods- but in the end King investigated and outed himself.

King's books, many of which i have read and enjoyed, are conspicuously absent from Bad Indians Book Club.

In case you were wondering if this was something a lot of us already knew.
