Behind the horizontal railings of a rear courtyard, a spiral staircase rises up the back of a small apartment building. Railings and staircase are both made of metal and probably date from the early part of the last century. There’s an out of focus tree in the background, a yellow wire dangling from the wall, and some dusty planks under the stairs.
