After the transphobic supreme court ruling the EHRC has issued guidance which ultimately moves to push trans peoples out of public life. This guidance is transphobic. We demand it must be changed to support trans people. Please come down to the offices in support of- the more supporters the better!!

A list outlining policies for the use of public workplace facilities by trans individuals. Key points include that trans women (biological men) and trans men (biological women) should not use facilities designated for the opposite biological sex, as this would make them no longer single-sex. In some cases, trans individuals may also be restricted from using facilities of their own biological sex. It suggests the provision of mixed-sex facilities where possible and allows for gender-neutral use of lockable single-person rooms.

New interim guidance from the UK "Equality and Human Rights Commission." Trans people are effectively banned from all bathrooms.

Finally, I think it's all starting to hit me. I decided to go swimming today - first non-work thing I've done since the judgment came out - and when I got out of the pool I just started sobbing.

So many people are going to get hurt. And I don't have the power to stop it.

It hurts every time someone suggests unisex or disabled loos as a “solution” to the trans bathroom question as though the idea of our segregation is reasonable

One thing, I do feel allegory is powerful and important, and the X-Men are often (not always) a great example of that. Sometimes, the reader is doing the heavy lifting in this.

It's just that I also feel marginalized people need representation IN CANON and not as robots or aliens sometimes.

Cis women in Ireland need to talk to other cis women in our lives and pour water on the kind of thinly veiled, soft-sounding bigotry that's creeping into people's social media and minds before we fully go the way of the UK. If an MP is doing the rounds insisting that trans women have to use men's toilets, the interviewer needs to be asking what law says so, and what the consequences would be for breaking said law. At the moment what we have is a supreme court ruling and *advice* flowing from that.

An important part of its mission around spreading knowledge and raising awareness of gynaecological anatomy and health has been to challenge normative assumptions around our bodies and how they may or may not be connected to experiences of gender, gender expression and broader sexuality. In doing so, we highlight that sex, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation and other characteristics related to sexual identity exist in various different combinations and their relationship to one another is never clear cut. The ruling comes amidst an increasingly frightening climate for trans people in the UK and globally. While both are trying to strip away Human Rights and legal protections.

- Labour MPs saying you can only be gay/lesbian if you don't date trans people, with the government saying yep this'll be backed up by EHRC guidance
- The PM saying trans women are men

In response to calls to ban parties from pride for their transphobic politics, I think one thing to make note of is that if you're a politician in a transphobic party, instead of standing at pride you could speak at parliament about the shame the government's failure on trans policy brings you.
