The Winter Olympics unlocks pre-phone entertainment memories for me: sofa lounging, TV on, throwing a ball at your siblings for hours, toast on fire under the grill, and panicking that the car across the road was spies.

Thank you so much, and I agree Wikipedia isn’t quite cutting it. I’m trying to get as many references as I can and I’m then throwing it into ChatGPT to try and get a better understanding of the layout etc, but it’s not working 😅🫣

I know this is insanely niche… but does anyone on here happen to have any information on Dutch Pinks (pinck or pinque) from the 18th century?

I’m writing a book that’s meant to be set on one and these are the only sorts of references I’m finding… HELP!

I’m at that stage of editing where I either have too little memory of the story, and I’m like, “wow, I can’t believe that happens,” or I know the story and scene so well that I have to read it word for word to really understand what’s going on #amediting

Orange sunset with London’s city architecture in silhouette Same, but from further away

I love it when the sunset makes the sky look all Blade Runner-y.

Mistakenly had Rip Off Britain on the TV for 20 seconds and I am now so bloody anxious. No wonder older people think everyone’s trying to “shaft” them.

How many drafts are enough, do we reckon?

I’m hoping to go no higher than 5 this time.

Here’s a pic of me in Greece with my first novel, The Cage that Wisdom Built, give it a read if you like a female-focussed dystopian adventure story ✌️

Also, if you did like it & wanted to leave a review I’d just love that 📖

Omg, I’m six pages away from finishing this next draft on my novel. Might treat myself and celebrate by just immediately starting the next draft 🫡

Why does everyone keep telling me that Stephen King can write a book in a few months?

I wish, babes, but half of my writing time is actually spent on synonym searches.

Literally only on the second novel of my 4 decades of life, and *that* pace is killing me!

Hey mates, so have any of y’all read my book, The Cage that Wisdom Built, yet? You can totally tell me if you have, don’t keep it a dirty little secret, tell the class what you thought!

And if you haven’t read it, well, I hope you like homework.

Standing in front of the Sydney Opera House. Ooh she’s got a red lip 💄 Small glass of champagne because I drank it 🥂 The Sydney Opera House at night His n’ hers shoes

Last night at the Sydney Opera House was pretty epic.

It’s such an iconic building and seeing a live orchestra there was simply incredible.
The musicians are so talented, and I found that I wanted to close my eyes to be immersed in it. Almost brought a tear to my eye if I wasn’t so dead inside.

Breakfast with a view of the Sydney Opera House. There’s coffee 👏 ☕️ American Psycho on kindle

Breakfast with the most incredible view!

Then back to the room to re-read American Psycho.

I just finished a very good but also very nostalgia-infused romance novel, so I need the counterbalance.

That’s very exciting to be writing a book and entering the world of editing! Good luck with your novel, too. What’s it about?

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that ❤️

We’re hoping we can find an agent tbh, but if not I did self-publish a novel a few years ago, so may go down that road. Have you self-published before?
