Peace is achieved not through words but by ending wars and prioritizing diplomacy, climate action, and justice over military efforts. Instead of romanticizing conflict, learn from the histories of Korea, Vietnam, and Iraq, and demand meaningful values and language.

Critics are right: this will significantly cost taxpayers. Updating signs and uniforms is an unnecessary distraction. Supporters claim it restores “historical pride” and a “warrior ethos,” but glorifying war language in 2025 feels outdated, especially as we face its consequences.

The U.S. dropped the “War Department” label in 1949 when the Army, Navy, and Air Force merged, adopting “Defense” to emphasize preventing war rather than glorifying it. Some changes are necessary, but reckless rebranding isn’t one of them.

Trump plans to rename the Pentagon back to the Department of War, with an executive order making the Secretary of Defense the "Secretary of War." Although Congress needs to approve it, Republicans control both chambers and are likely to support the change.

Why is It’s only after we’ve lost everything that we’re free to do anything. We must resist before it's too late!

Suspending habeas corpus lets the government imprison people without charging them or giving them a chance to defend themselves. It wipes out a core check on power. If the state can jail you without trial, freedom isn’t protected.
