One of those mornings where you spend two hours painting and repainting the same section of a piece and you're still not sure if it's better than when you started.
San Francisco and Bay Area Paintings 💙
It's #Portfolioday apparently! So why not join in.
I'm a watercolourist based in the UK. My favourite genre is fantasy and folklore with a heavy leaning on creatures, but I have dabbled in other areas!

Day four. Big travel day today so only had energy for a lil drawing of my brother's cosy living room.

Day three. The light changes so damn fast when you're trying to paint shadows.

Day 2! This month is really gonna reveal how overgrown my backyard is.

Oh thank you! I'll look them up!

Your easel/board thing is so good! I have been precariously balancing paints on my knees and it is very silly.
Glowing 🧡🧡🧡
#pleinairpril Let's go! Day 1!
I forgot how hard painting outdoors is. Especially while fending a puppy off from drinking your paint water.

Not to make us feel old or anything, but when I had a little cubicle at art school a decade ago, I had little prints of your work up on my walls. (And now I'm a cover artist too so that's a nice lil circle)
Put together a highlights video of the making of my latest print.
Please feel free to ask any questions about the process!
Thank you! :)

I also got covid in the middle of that month and it was the sickest I've ever been, so a lot of these were painted from bed.
Thank you so much! I remember having a lot of fun playing with the colours in these.
A few more pleinairpril studies from 2022! I used the challenge that year as a way to spend quiet time with and connect to the new home I'd moved into. So a little less open air than the usual plein air.

I think I'd like to do plein airpril again this year - I did it a couple of times in 2021 and 2022 and it was a lovely way of connecting to my neighbourhood and home.
It might be a nice way to get into gouache painting practice again.
Thank you! 🧡
For these ones I tried engraving around the lines and cutting away the bigger spaces - next time I would cut right to the edge of the plate to avoid having to use a stencil to mask it.
I also used a cardboard jig I cut to exactly position the plates in the right place.
