Most likely not. If there was real world ethnicities in canon, Dima would be half Saudi Arab from his mother’s side, but he doesn’t have a relationship with her. But physically he resembles her a lot so I wanted to draw him in Saudi style clothing. I plan to draw him in other cultural garb as well.

If The City Maw had real world ethnicities, Dima is Nigerian and Russian on his father’s side and Arab (Saudi) on his mother’s.

Evidently he doesn’t look West African. He resembles his mother.

His nanny and aide raised him, and they’re Sakha.

I’ll be drawing him in Russian and Sakha clothing too.
