Its front claws grip a small silver sword, while its long tail hangs off the bottom edge of the circular wooden frame. The moon is rendered in varied shades of lavender and violet to suggest craters and depth. The artwork is held up in a craft room.

The TARDIS is shown in a dynamic, slightly tilted angle as if in motion through space. It is rendered in deep blues with black outlines and dotted light-blue highlights, and the windows glow warmly in yellow. The white signs on the box read “POLICE PUBLIC CALL BOX.” Surrounding the TARDIS is a vibrant, cosmic background with swirling clouds in shades of purple, pink, and blue, dotted with white specks suggesting stars. The word “WOOSH” is handwritten vertically in white along the right edge, evoking the sound of the TARDIS in flight. It depicts a pond filled with lily pads in bright greens, oranges, and reds, surrounded by tall lilac-colored flowers and cascading wisteria-like blossoms. Bold, colorful strokes create a vivid sense of motion in the water and depth in the foliage. The colors are saturated, and the composition is full, with minimal white space. The second image (the “before”) shows the same layout and subject but rendered in watercolor. The style is looser and more subdued, with softer purples and greens. The lily pads are simpler and more dispersed, the water appears calmer, and the vertical flowers are less detailed. Background elements are more faded and abstract, giving a quieter, more impressionistic feel. The updated version adds striking contrast, defined shapes, and intensified color, transforming the piece from a soft sketch into a lively, expressive landscape.

A custom-painted IKEA greenhouse is displayed from several angles, perched on a Werner step ladder indoors. The small structure, shaped like a miniature conservatory with a white metal frame and clear panels, has been transformed into a vibrant art piece using Gallery Glass paint. The design draws inspiration from Pinterest, with each panel uniquely painted in a stained-glass style. The front and lower sections feature a bold desert landscape, including tall green cacti, spiky agave plants, rocky terrain in purples and ochres, and a glowing orange sun. These elements are framed by stylized arched window shapes rendered in textured, faux-leaded outlines. The side and top panels contrast with a botanical vine motif, composed of swirling stems and layered green leaves set against textured clear backgrounds. The top roof panel is hinged and shown partially open in some photos, revealing the painted interior and confirming the case’s potential use as a terrarium or decorative display. Soft natural light from nearby windows enhances the stained-glass effect, making the colors glow and highlighting the craftsmanship.

A distanced view of a handmade stained glass gazebo-style bird feeder and planter, softly glowing in a dark room. The structure has a hexagonal base and frame made of wood painted in a muted green color. Each side of the gazebo is filled with panels of faux stained glass, created with gallery glass and FolkArt Murano stained glass paints, giving a richly textured, translucent effect. The central subject of the stained glass imagery is a dragon, depicted sleeping within a forest. The dragon’s body winds through several panels, its scales rendered in vivid shades of red, orange, and yellow, outlined heavily in black to mimic the look of traditional leaded stained glass. Parts of the dragon’s body blend into the background, with swirling patterns suggesting its limbs and tail curling protectively around itself. The surrounding forest is illustrated with stylized trees, their trunks and branches in soft yellows and browns, and leafy canopies painted in deep, vibrant greens. The warm, golden light from inside the gazebo illuminates the painted glass, making the colors appear especially rich and jewel-like against the darkness around it. Soft beams and reflections scatter around the piece, and faint outlines of nearby leaves and small decorative objects are visible in the background. The atmosphere feels quiet, magical, and intimate, as if the dragon is hidden deep within an ancient, secret forest, undisturbed in its slumber.
I’m keeping this one but would love to make more. What other designs do you think would absolutely slap?

This might be my favourite project of 2025. I’ve been working on this gazebo thing for a few years now and recently had the idea to do a stained glass look and drop some fairy lights in the middle.

A small, hand-painted artwork titled “Pastel Powerlines,” dated 4.20.25 in the corner. The scene features a silhouetted utility pole centered in the composition, with multiple thick, black power lines stretching outward in diagonal directions. The background is a richly textured pastel sky, composed of short, horizontal brushstrokes in soft shades of pink, lavender, peach, and pale blue, creating a dreamy, atmospheric twilight. The power lines contrast sharply against the delicate, multicolored sky, giving the piece a bold yet serene mood. The painting is framed within a sketchbook, and part of a hand holding it is visible.
A vibrant, impressionistic painting titled “Lily Marsh,” also dated 4.20.25. The scene depicts a dense patch of water lilies in a marshy pond. Broad, overlapping lily pads in various greens float across the surface, interspersed with brightly colored blossoms in pink, orange, yellow, and white. The flowers and pads are rendered with thick, layered brushstrokes, giving the scene a sense of lush texture and depth. The water reflects green tones and hints of other surrounding vegetation, painted in vertical streaks that suggest gentle movement. The sketchbook page is slightly curved, and the painting fills the entire surface.
A photo showing both paintings from the previous images side by side in an open sketchbook, held in someone’s hand against a soft background. On the left page is “Lily Marsh,” filled with dense greenery, lily pads, and blooming water lilies painted in expressive, colorful strokes. On the right page is “Pastel Powerlines,” with its silhouetted utility pole and a softly blended sky of pink, purple, and blue hues. The contrast between the natural lushness of the marsh and the structured silhouette of the powerlines highlights the varied subject matter and painterly techniques across the two pieces.
My first 420 in seven years not working and I’m sick.
Yay. At least I’m getting some art done.
I should do a stoner piece…
A hand-painted scene of a Mediterranean-style exterior wall, featuring a bright yellow stucco surface with a central wooden window framed in light gray stone. The window has brown shutters and glass panes reflecting sky and surroundings. Below the window, a planter box overflows with red, white, and green flowers, creating a cascade of color. To the left, a vertical wooden trellis is wrapped in a climbing vine with dense red and white blossoms and green leaves. At the bottom, a row of terracotta pots filled with vibrant flowers and greenery lines a stone-tiled patio. The overall composition conveys a warm, sunny atmosphere with rich earthy tones and vivid floral accents.
Some delayed updates on progress 🥰
I’d like to add more flowers, and I might still!
It’s times like this I find myself leaning towards digital art. It’s easier to “fix”.. but then I don’t do it because I don’t like how it looks. Rendering digitally is WAY HARDER for me than to render traditionally.
Lawd….
A vibrant painting on a sketchbook page shows a sunlit garden courtyard scene. On the left side, there’s an arched wooden door set into a soft peach-colored stucco wall. Below the door, a thick patch of vivid red and orange flowers fills the lower left corner, surrounded by leafy green foliage. To the right, a tall, multi-tiered fountain stands against the wall, painted in light beige with white accents suggesting water channels, though no visible water is flowing. The fountain and background are more softly rendered compared to the bold texture of the flowers, creating a gentle contrast between architectural and organic elements.
A close-up of the lower left panel from the previous image focuses on the pencil sketch of a traditional window scene. The window is framed with rough-edged wood and rests on a ledge. Below the window, a cobblestone ground holds five flowerpots of varying shapes and sizes. A tall vertical pole stands on the left side of the frame, and to the right of the pots, part of a crumbling plaster wall reveals bricks underneath. The sketch is neat and detailed, with clean lines outlining the rustic charm of the architectural setting.
A pencil sketch features a waterfront village scene, drawn on textured white paper and framed with green tape. The scene includes an array of buildings with pitched roofs clustered along a river or canal. A small arched bridge or gateway crosses the water on the left. Rocks and foliage decorate the water’s edge. On the right, a larger rectangular structure with a walled rooftop terrace juts out over the water, surrounded by loosely sketched trees. A small boat is faintly drawn on the lower right portion of the water, hinting at a quiet, scenic setting. The entire scene is still in its early line-art stage, awaiting color or further detail.
This image shows a wooden artboard holding a three-panel work in progress. The top panel is the village scene from Image 2, still in pencil. Below it are two vertical rectangles side by side. The left panel contains a pencil sketch of a rustic window with wooden framing, flowerpots along a cobbled floor, and part of a brick wall exposed at the bottom right. The right panel is a completed watercolor painting of a purple gazebo by a lakeside. The gazebo has tall, open arches and sits amid lush greenery with trees hanging over the structure. The lake to the right reflects the light blue sky, and the atmosphere feels peaceful and summery.
I haven’t been creating. I’ve been sitting on projects, intimidated. I love these sketches so far and don’t want to duck them up 🥲🙃
I kinda lost the background on the oil pastel courtyard. I had fun with the fountain though!
Bottom left panel is maybe a Mediterranean style scene?
Thank you!! I want to do another but fill it with a bunch of tiny detail. It’s daunting though and I then grab my iPad and try digitally but what I WANT is traditional. Also, for this one… I made the wood paneling stripes too bold… now they look dumb. They looked more cohesive before 🤔

A vibrant oil pastel painting of an underwater coral reef, created in a spiral-bound sketchbook. The composition centers on rays of sunlight piercing through the water from above, rendered in soft streaks of white and pale blue that fan out into the deeper ocean. Surrounding this glowing center are dense clusters of coral in vivid, saturated colors—fiery oranges, hot pinks, purples, reds, and lush greens. The coral forms are varied, with some appearing bushy or fan-shaped and others resembling rounded tufts or branching structures. The water is a rich gradient of blues, giving depth and movement to the scene, while the seafloor features soft, swirling strokes of beige, turquoise, and hints of green, suggesting sand and shallow terrain. The texture of the oil pastels adds a thick, slightly blended appearance, enhancing the richness of color and the sense of motion underwater. The piece is titled “REEF” at the bottom left, dated “3.23.25” in the lower right corner, and signed with the artist’s initials.
