This scar. A permanent reminder of someone I once called a friend, who in a moment of panic, made a stupid decision. A decision I'm still paying for. Word travels fast in this town, especially around campus. Marie's hysteric ranting made sure of that. No one looks at me the same anymore, not even Marie. Before that day, I was just Lucy. Just Lucy. Now, I'm "that girl" or "her". People whisper to each other when I walk by. I've gotten weird looks. Marie's embellished stories made herself look like the big heroine, bravely vanquishing the monster who violated her helpless best friend Lucy. Violated. That's the word she used. I was violated alright. Not that morning at the diner. Not by that poor boy. But by Marie. Days after. By her lies. Marie and I eventually stopped talking. She moved away, she didn't tell me where she was going and made a point to block my number. Some time after Marie moved away, it felt like things cleared up. There were still whispers but, no one seemed to know who it was about anymore. I even found a boyfriend. Figured things were finally looking up. We got intimate one night and as soon as my shirt came off he immediately noticed the scar. "Oh you're THAT Lucy??" he said. To which he got up, made some half-assed excuse and left. He didn't even give me chance to explain myself, and that everything he heard about me was wrong. Whatever it's turned into, this scar is a big part of it. He started avoiding me after that. Thanks, Marie. You made this scar you gave me my most recognizable feature to people. There's nothing left for me here. Bee's is closed, rumours are making the rounds again. I've heard some, they're worse than before. My search for that boy also came up empty, except for a long shot in the Maritimes. I'm starting to think the small trip I have planned to that town there should be more.. permanent. Start over. Where no one knows who I am, where no one heard some fucked up version of Marie's stories. I think that's the right call.

VTuber PSA: Yes, your views are down right now. Most VTuber's numbers are down. On July 29th, 4 days ago, the median number of viewers for a Vtuber was 15. As of today, the median number of viewers is 3. That isn't a typo, 3. Also, this evening, 41% of VTubers had 1 or fewer viewers. In Twitch's effort to reduce view botting, a lot of VTubers have seen extreme reductions in view count. Although many larger VTubers didn't have the same decrease in viewership. A lot of VTubers seemed to lose around half of their viewership, while the top few actually saw a slight increase in viewers. It is highly unlikely that 90% of VTubers were view botting, so Twitch probably went a bit overboard. Then there is a chart with three collums labelled Last Summer, This Summer, and Today respectively. There are Two rows for Median and Average viewers respectively. Last summer the median was 18 viewers while the average was 96.39 viewers. This summer the median dropped to 15 while the average increased to 96.98. Today's section is highlighted in red and showing dramatically lower viewer numbers; the median being 3 and the average being 64.52.

Saw this on X and thought I'd post it here. Apparently lots of lurkers are being mistaken for view bots by Twitch and so a lot of smaller VTubers are experiencing significantly less view counts than normal. 1/2
