I think a lot of people get hung up on women being the object of desire as some sort of status quo and believe that everything is in reaction to that.
Women desiring anything other than being desired is a hard reality to accept for some.

I think there is an expectation for kink to be a top priority because it is this pure, true desire. But when one sees no clear benefit of giving it time and energy I think it's perfectly reasonable to leave it be for a bit.
