Reading this, it's as if Denji is searching for the "eye contact" he has with Yoshida. And. Uh. Not seeing Yoshida's face makes it more painful, he lost him.

new csm feels unbelievably short and yet lots of stuff just happened. noticing how both denji and yoshida have the pipe/concrete through where their hearts would be

I like the visual storytelling of Denji's injury here, because Fujimoto can inflict whatever pain onto him and not worry about him recovering the shrapnel piercing around where his heart would can imply a level of heartbreak at yet another person in his life who liked him died.

there’s something so similar here that’s making me cry all over again. the acceptance of having lived enough in their short lives because they got to experience just tiny, fleeting moments of a normal happy life.

I can't even put into words how perfect it is that Yoshida's goodbye to Denji is a handshake. It's so bleak in a way that's hard to even describe.

i wouldn't think about this as much if it wasn't made soo clear how denji dislikes physical contact with men and there was an exchange /emphasizing/ this tendency through holding hands in particular. this one wasn't even a shake, it was a hold

#csm213 i do understand the point of not showing their time spent together, now. it's more heartbreaking in retrospect. it was an empty space, hued by their shapes, kept close to their chests. we didn't know how close they were, but we could feel it. now we do, and there'll be nothing to reminisce

ok maybe this is a reach, but— it’s specified that Denji /and/ Yoshida were harassed when they were together. what if the reason for that harassment is /because/ they were together and perceived as gay for it.

real love is being able to be near someone without fear, stress or caring about how you are perceived. it’s being able to completely shed ideas of how you should relate to each other designated by the roles put upon you by the world.

Yoshida reminded Denji of that kind of love.

I’ve seen people worried about Yoshida here but I’m actually rotating this particular contract in my head.

I think the wording here is important and this wasn’t just a simple deus ex machina to escape the realm.

“We will never fight each other again” means no one present can fight each other.
