Great choice. I love Kate Bradburyβs book and the one that preceded it. Iβve yet to read the autobiography of Ronald Blythe but itβs on my beside waiting. Just finishing Alys Fowlerβs book Hidden Nature first which Iβm enjoying.
21.05.2025 20:48 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Just awful and so disrespectful of the huge, diverse, international workforce without whom our health and care services would be in an even more dire position. Tired of this βnewβ Labour.
12.05.2025 12:16 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Baby robins discovered today in the woodshed. How exciting. Stay safe little ones.
07.05.2025 21:42 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Madness. If @teamlabouruk.bsky.social vote against this one small thing for nature thereβll have lost any remaining credibility for me and Iβll not vote for them again. This govt has been such a huge disappointment to date. @lukecharters.bsky.social @rachaelmaskell.bsky.social
07.05.2025 17:18 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The Esk Valley around Grosmont is a favourite place to walk and this time of the year itβs particularly special. Carpets of wild garlic and bluebells as far as the eye can see, together with cowslips, early purple orchids, greater woodrush, red campion, greater stitchwort, bugle and so much more.
06.05.2025 06:33 β π 31 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0You managed to capture beautifully that brief moment of warmth, sunshine and blue skies in the city this morning.
03.05.2025 11:00 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Beautiful. And I love the subtle variations in them.
28.04.2025 07:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Mary Colwell is always inspiring - her recent book The Gathering Place is excellent. Good for you for trying the creative challenge. Hope the drawing is taking pride of place at home somewhere and inspired you to do more
25.04.2025 21:14 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0How was in Lynn?
24.04.2025 06:21 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0They are indeed. Itβs a good year for them, weβve loads that have self seeded around the place
21.04.2025 10:06 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Awoke to find a sparrow hawk on the veggie bed. Resting perhaps, though it remained quite still for some time, I suspect waiting for some unsuspecting prey.

These have appeared in our front border. Very pretty but a little concerned it might be a Spanish invader and not a native variety.

Exciting β¦ look forward to this one in the autumn
15.04.2025 10:55 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Home to York. Daffodils and cherry blossom in full bloom around the city walls. 4146km travelled by train in just over 2 weeks. What an adventure. Definitely going to make more of the journeying in future and not all about the final destination.
12.04.2025 12:20 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Travelling through the mountains of southern France. The snow capped mountain tops and patchwork of greens from the trees are just breathtaking. To think Iβd have missed this joy if Iβd simply flown.

Happy birthday. Look forward to reading more about your grand tour
11.04.2025 09:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What a relief. Our old cat used to take off for days at a time. The first time he did it for 5 days and we were utterly bereft.
11.04.2025 09:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Travelling through Italy by train is wonderful on such a morning, passing through the countryside, mountains, vineyards and endless cypress trees.
Itβs the best way to travel.
The Triple Elvis Andy Warhol exhibition in Naples today was pretty cool. Good to see them together and up close
05.04.2025 19:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Guide books warn you about thieves and pickpockets in #Naples. Only ones Iβve seen wear Polizia uniforms & target tourists endlessly especially where the on board ticket machines arenβt working. Theyβre on just about every bus & itβs always the tourists theyβre targeting with β¬55 in the spot fines.π‘
05.04.2025 11:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Up until now we've focussed on fossil fuel companies . But companies are made up of peopleβ and these people know that they are working against the interests of all life on earth . They need calling out .

02.04.2025 19:02 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Deep breath. Weβre going in!
02.04.2025 09:07 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Made it to Naples and not a bad view. What a vast sprawling, bustling city it is. And such a contrast to Milan.
01.04.2025 12:32 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Good morning Milan.
31.03.2025 06:54 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At risk of overusing the word βwowβ. Travelling through part of Switzerland, early flowering meadows, pristine lakes and snow capped mountains.

A fleeting visit, albeit Tigs managed a visit to the Lindt shop before train no 4, our last of the day, to Milan
